Nursing Programs in San Diego?

I'm currently attending UCSD, but there is no nursing program av available at the school. I intend on pursuing a major in nursing so I'm trying to find a school to transfer to. And, obviously, I want to go to a really good school. I was accepted into UCLA but my PARENTS are too protective to let me attend -_-.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what schools I should look into. Anything would be helpful. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure SDSU has a nursing program. But if your parents are too protective about UCLA...then I'm definitely doubting they'll let you go to SDSU.

Nursing schools are tough to get into these days -- maybe even tougher than med school. I'm not sure what your parents are concerned about, but the UCLA offer (if it is for the nursing school) is golden -- especially with a brand-new hospital. At least when I was at UCLA, we never even saw students in the nursing school because they were way too busy to be involved in much of anything outside of the health sciences complex.

My cousin graduated from SDSU's nursing program. Great program.

When you say you're parents are being protective, what do you mean? What do they have against UCLA specifically?
Look at Cali's universities website (californiacolleges.edu) for a lot of good info.

Protective as in "I don't want you to leave San Diego!" Haha. You know how parents can get. Not only that but UCLA will cost so much money. First dorming and then apartments. Yikes! Not to mention tuition fees. And yes, I'm aware of loans but I really don't want to take out too many loans for school.

I also want to have extra money to study abroad and go to Grad School at UCSF to become a nurse practitioner.
