Anyone in the course of their research come across any information on good accredited programs to become a registered dietician/nutritionist? My sophomore daughter is looking for this major...but wants "a real college experience". She is a B student (3.6 W GPA) and will prob. have SAT scores about 1150 (old) so I believe Cornell is out of the question. We are from Florida and are aware that Florida State U and Florida International U have programs. We also know that Boston U. has a program in its Sargent College. I believe every major state U has a program but these are all very large schools.....are there any smaller ones? Simmon College is small and has a program but my daughter ixnayed the idea because Simmons is all women.

University of Delaware has a program. Undergrad. enrollment is about 15,000. Very nice campus- extremely popular with NY kids. (you decide wheather that is a good or bad thing). You are right, many state U's have nutritional science programs as I think there is a connection with land grant colleges. My d is at Cornell, so I am a bit aware of the connection. I personally would not steer you into Cornell, mainly because your d might be taking science courses with Cornell pre-med kids. A friends d was interest in occupational therapy and stayed away from Cornell for that reason. She is now at U. of Maryland. I would suggest you do a google search for college accredited programs for nutritionists. There are probably a few national organizations that will link you to specific BA programs. Good luck.

Hi Seiclan,

The usnews(the free version) has a section where you can search by major. I clicked on food and nutrition and nothing else and the search resulted in 128 schools.

Hopefully this can be a jumping off point to start your search.

From the Collegeboard.com search engine in the South alone...
