<p>Alright, so I turn 21 in NY this coming September, but my license expires (obviously) on that day. Do I get a new drivers license from NY or do I have to wait until I go back to California and get it there? I wont be driving in NY but Im sure I will need a valid license for ID.</p>
<p>im not sure how it works in california, but in IL, i'm pretty sure you can renew early. so if you're in california anytime before it expires you could get it renewed. the only annoying thing would be still having the under 21 restriction bars/colors/whatever they do. i dont know if you could get a NY license, unless you have established residency? not sure how that all works.</p>
