NY Times article on Aid Cut-Backs at Elite Schools

<p>one thing I love about the NYT is the well-written articles. One thing I always find amusing is their articles tend to go beyond stretching facts – yeah, I know, whatever it takes to make the point that they want to make. You see, that is the thing about journalists – they don’t facts get in the way of a good story.</p>

<p>Just flat out wrong. Dartmouth “retreated” from no loans early in the recession, not after it “ended.” (And a couple of google clicks would confirm it.) But more importantly, Dartmouth has reinstated no-loans for those families making less than $100k/yr., i.e., 2 x the mean income; so, double wrong. (Perhaps to a journalist, two wrongs in the story net each other out to a correct point?)</p>
