NY Times article on College admissions and finances

<p>Interesting article on college admissions, FA and has feedback from about 13 students and what they are doing. I don't think the students are a diverse bunch, in that they all had pretty high scores and options.</p>

<p>would have been more informative had they at least posted the FAFSA efc’s of the people involved (though many of the colleges seemed to be profile schools and how much in loans (above and beyond the EFC) each family is willing to take on</p>

<p>no article about college admission/FA is complete without telling how much all the ‘great options’ cost in relationship to at least the Fafsa EFC.</p>

<p>With the exception of the Ivys’, admission to dream schools is irrelevant unless the MONEY is there whether it is State U or Dream college Private U</p>

<p>i don’t think these kids researched the financial aid of their colleges. </p>

<p>if they had they might have avoided some of this mess</p>
