I doubt anyone is setting an alarm to wake up for a few hours in the middle of the night. This just lets us insomniacs worry less about it (yes, “embrace” those hours) which ironically helps us get back to sleep.
This discussion is the result, in my opinion, of some poor reporting/writing with contradictory language throughout. Clearly this “segmented sleep” idea triggers people for some reason but I am relieved to have this ridiculous theory to help me relax from 3 to 5 am.
