NYC COLLEGES QUESTIONS please help!

i would like to know more about several NYC colleges such as Fordham, Marymount Manhattan, Pace, Baruch.
i am now a senior- (not sure of my exact GPA) but junior year i had a couple mid-high 80's than all mid 90's. (9-10th grade mid 80's mostly) My SAT score was not good (1360). i have a job and hopefully volunteering at my hospital this summer... etc.

SO. what colleges should visit this summer/ do i have any chances in any NYC schools?

Thanks!

Baruch is one of the more selective colleges within the City College system, and you probably are not competitive there. You might have a chance at Pace, if you are not seeking a merit scholarship. Your test scores are at the low end of their median range. Marymount Manhattan might be a reach - your scores fall below the 25th percentile. I’d say that Fordham is too extreme a reach for you. What about Wagner, on Staten Island? They are test-optional and have a 72% acceptance rate.

@woogzmama thanks for the reply! do you have any other ideas of colleges in manhattan? or a closer reach than staten island?

Hunter, City College.

City College is possible; the OPs test scores fall well below Hunter’s 25th percentile.

Hunter has a 30% acceptance rate and applicants would need around 1100/1600 on SAT CR+M to be competitive which OP probably doesn’t have

Look at Eugene Lang/The New School, in Manhattan & test optional

If you’re interested in Marymount Manhattan and Fordham (which is really too much of reach), with your SAT scores you have a shot at Manhattan College, also in the Bronx (but in Riverdale, a nicer neighborhood than where Fordham is and a 30 minute subway ride from midtown) http://manhattan.edu/</a> and Manhattanville, in Purchase NY

Are you going to retake that SAT?

St Joe’s, St John’s, Queens, Borough of Manhattan CC…

There are no private NYC colleges that you would get into aside from Pace and LIU Brooklyn. I am assuming you are only looking at schools within the 5 boroughs. LIU Brooklyn is Downtown Brooklyn which is literally just a bridge away from Manhattan. Aside from that, you can apply to the CUNYs, but they are becoming increasingly competitive.
