How Much Coffee Is Too Much Coffee?
No such thing. At least for me.

Just ordered a new coffee pot yesterday as my FAVORITE pot of 6 years died yesterday.
I’m usually just a one cup (but probably 10-12 ounces) a morning coffee person. I doctor it up. I never feel like i NEED it (don’t get the caffeine buzz) but I WANT it - it’s a pleasant morning routine. Don’t miss it physically if I don’t have it.
I consider it a treat and a time I get a little calcium in the morning.
The only time I had too much caffeine was in grad school when I had been awake for 48 hours working on a project. Even then it was the chocolate covered coffee beans that I was eating that caused the jitters than the multiple cups of coffee I drank.
What coffee pot did you buy?
I seem to be sensitive to caffeine. It spikes my blood pressure. I love coffee but have cut back to about half a cup per day during the work week and maybe a cup to a cup and a half on weekends. I’ve tried caffeine free but I don’t feel like cutting the coffee in the morning and my significant other likes the high test.
I’m replacing a electric pour over I loved. And wanted again not a full sized maker. And call me coffeemaker vain but I love a sleek look.
I’m not a coffee drinker but love my Diet Coke. I read the story to see how much caffeine is too much, and, wow, I am seriously underdrinking Diet Coke! I have lots of room to increase caffeine consumption.

Now, alas, I had cranked too far. I could no longer play the recorder; I would need a bugle. I would break a piano. What could I do around the cabin? There was no wood to split. There was something I need to fix with a hacksaw, but I reject the work as too fine. Why not adopt a baby, design a curriculum, go sailing?
Too much coffee - when I get the I can’t breath feeling.

That’s my pot! Makes great coffee. I’ve been really happy with it.
The only bad reviews are that the pot breaks and there isn’t a replacement. So I’m extra careful handling it.

With respect to coffee pots, K-Cup machines are quite good.
Lol not to get off track (but keeping ON track - with a smaller coffee maker you might drink less coffee!) but that’s so funny! It’s so similar to my previous maker - and I saved the carafe because I THINK it might fit this one should there be an incident!
I have my two cups in the morning (French press) and that’s it. Caffeine can keep me from sleeping if I drink it in the afternoon, but a few years ago, coffee+stress was causing my heart to act up (PVC’s). I quit caffeine (and the stress went away in time) and the heart effects stopped. I still have my morning coffee but now it’s almost exclusively decaf and I only rarely have caffeine of any kind. I’ve found I don’t miss it, so for any of you who think that you may have reached the upper limit—feel free to quit—life is fine without caffeine!

If you’re pregnant, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends no more than 200 milligrams.

I drink from a 20-oz. cup, and I’ll usually either have one “cup” of either black or green tea in the morning, another “cup” of green tea", and then another 1-2 “cups” of rooibos or herbal tea that doesn’t have caffeine.
Question for the scientific minds out there: The second link indicates that one tea bag of Celestial Seasonings English Breakfast tea will provide 60mg of caffeine. Am I correct in assuming that it’s the same 60mg whether that’s steeped in 8 oz. of water or 18 oz. of water? (Yes, I realize that the longer tea is brewed, the more caffeine will collect in the water.) Not my flavor, but I’m interested in the principle.
I love my morning coffee. I drink it black. I sometimes will have an afternoon espresso. Lol I think I’ll have one now!
I use a Cuisinart coffee maker from Costco, my husband offered me a mokamaster for my birthday. While I’d like it at $100 I can’t see it at over $300.

I only drink decaf coffee and tea and cola. I am just too sensitive to it. Someone above mentioned PVCs and I have a lot of them routinely, let alone if I have some caffeine, even decaf drinks. Because there is no such think as caffeine free coffee @lvvcsf by the way. Just reduced caffeine.
As to the tea question, I feel like it’s a trick question. The water infuses the tea bag to release 60 mg of caffeine, whether that is diluted thru 20 oz or 10 oz of water, correct??

Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Bar 1 bar, 1.4 oz. 25mg of caffeine
According to this source, a Hershey’s kiss ways approximately 0.2 ounces. So, it’s equivalent to 1/7 of the weight of a Special Dark chocolate bar, meaning approximately 3.6mg of caffeine for each dark chocolate Hershey’s kiss. I’m not so sure I should have done the math on dark chocolate…
