NYU 2022

Don’t worry about your supplements! I’m sure that they’re great!! :slight_smile:

I can’t even remember f I applied neuro or psych. But my why essay was about visiting New York and NYU when I was 12 and how the city first showed me how much I am capable of and how much there is in the world. Also, how NYU lets me combine my various interests.

Stats for anyone:
SAT: 1440 ACT: 32
GPA: 4.0 uw 4.3 w valedictorian of my class
ECs: lots of leadership, started Rho Kappa, spearhead education research at my school.

rejected from Northeastern, waitlisted BU :slight_smile:

Hi ALL:

With over 75,000 application this year, the acceptance rate will be 24% for 2018. NYU seems to remain a dream school for so many US and International students!! I applied to NYU Stern with less than 10% acceptance rate. Love NYC especially downtown… the Halloween Parade, Tribeca Film Festival, SOHO, etc.

STATS:
Female
ACT: 35
GPA: 4.5W 3.9 UW
APs (Lang, Lit, Biology, Chemistry, Cal. BC, US History, Human Geo, Micro) all 5s except one - 4
ECs: Model UN, DECA (State awards), Scientific Research, NHS, over 300 volunteer hour per year, 2 internships at Non-Profits. National Volleyball team Captain 5 years, Varsity volleyball 4 years.- Captain senior year.

Wish everyone good luck! Accepted UFL, Tulane, UCSB, BU, UVA. (Already declined UFL & Tulane). Will decline BU and UVA if accepted to Stern.

@WaitingForGodot14 i love your name

@WaitingforGodot4 Just out of curiosity, where did you get that 24% acceptance rate figure? Online it is listed as 33%, and I also read that it had dropped to 27% recently, but I’ve never seen 24%

Hi @newprofessor. I took the number accepted from last year and divided it by the number of applications from this year. It was 27% for 2017 overall but it really depends on your NYU school and major. Stern, Engineering, Film and the Writing Programs are the hardest to gain acceptance. My percentage should be pretty close. Good luck!

Now I feel bad lol. In my Why NYU essay I mainly talked about the diverse experience that I can get and the travel abroad programs. And my essay was so rushed lmao (had written essays beforehand, but computer broke down so had to rewrite them one day before the deadline). @cnc4599

@myfavoritepet don’t stress too much! I originally was not going to apply to NYU because I thought even if I got in I wouldn’t be able to afford it. But it was my dream school for so long so I decided 4 hours before the deadline to apply. So I wrote my essay in about 4 hours haha. Just be confident in what you wrote and if you are meant to get in you will, plus you never know what the admission committee is looking for and they might really see something in you.

@BrKmNk I’m a fellow neuroscience applicant!

Any ideas as to when decisions are released?

April 1 5PM ET

But hoping for March 29 or March 30!

@liveforbooks hooray! if we get admitted lets get to know each other!

probably Friday the 30th around 5 PM ET, as @YoungOne4 states → @chrys1

@BrKmNk I’m also a neuroscience applicant!

Who knows if NYU admission is holistic or not? Like do they care more about your GPA&SAT or your EC? I have okay EC (Bio league captain, biology club president, work experience as math tutor, sport team manager, JV sport, 100+ community service hours, orchestra&on stage performance, fine art exhibition, ect.) but my GPA is low, and my SAT is slightly above average.

@IlluminatiIsReal My son received a similar mail and we called them . They later redressed it.

@Mmrosa Yes they fixed my problem too.

@BrKmNk Yes, definitely!! and also @allycat231 , we can all get through the huge gen ed science classes together :slight_smile:
