@cnc4599 My NYU Essay is great. I worked with my English teacher and she loved it. I have a couple activities related to my major and I also mentioned in my Why essay about my future plan at NYU.

@cnc4599 I applied international studies major/psychology major
@liveforbooks from what I’ve read on past threads NYU does it’s best to admit you to either your first or second choice
@JaqueBear it sounds like you have a good chance if your essay is as good as you say it is!
@myfavoritepet I don’t know much about either or those majors but if your ecs revolve around your major and your “why NYU” essay is good, I’m sure you have a good chance
What did you guys write in your Why NYU essays specifically?
@leanne07 I wrote that I want to enter a professional writing field like grant writing or technical writing, so the media, culture, and communications major would allow me to improve my writing and learn valuable skills that will prepare me for a professional writing career. Basically that.
So does anyone know what day portals will officially update? I’m curious
@leanne07 I wrote about how I wanted to work in the growing entertainment and media industry, and how the MCC major would help prepare me for that. I also explained my background in the arts as my introduction, and talked a little bit about how I would benefit from NYU outside my major.

In my MCC essay I talked about how I realized my passion for media of all forms and how I feel passionate about each of the fields in the MCC major. I also wrote about how the diversity of NYU would help me in my future, as I want to amplify the voices of those that are not always heard in our media today. I thought it was really good, but who knows what admissions will think?
