@frances007 i didn’t apply either. i don’t think we’ll have a change, but past years show that it doesn’t actually correlate to anything
They will probably not update at once. Decisions are made before financial aid packages according to admissions. Having one but not the other is probably not a sign of anything at this point…
do you think NYU gives emails to students who are rejected?
@adeedidya29369 most emails recently started showing up, and this blog on the NYU website says that they finish decisions weeks before the FA office starts putting packages together, so I believe that all decisions have already been made, whether you are rejected or not.
@GiannaC3 from what I can tell, you get an email that says your admissions decision is on Albert. If you get the email before 5pm it’s bad news, after 5pm it’s good news
my friend has gotten the financial change and her housing applications are open for the january & spring 2018 term. we’re international
@nyuhopeful44 Do they still do it that way? Because I’ve seen people get emails at 5:30pm and get rejected
@nyuhopeful44 Oh wait, I meant the emails that just appeared on our housing page. The netID@nyu.edu emails. I was wondering if people who are rejected still see a netID@nyu.edu email on their housing.
Has anyone got their housing change yet, from looking at previous threads does anyone know when the first wave of changes comes in?
Around the 10th I think. Not reliable though. They may have fixed the glitch this year.
@rahinkumar my friend checked her portals today and she had the FA change and she had applications open for the January and spring 2018 term
I was looking through last years thread and from what it sounds looks like, the FA change was hella unreliable last year. They probably fixed it.

Guys, I emailed NYU the other day asking whether or not they have my CSS profile, they told me this morning that they have it and my financial aid tab in Albert will be updated in the next 3 days, I don’t know what does “updated” mean, but if it means the FA change, then I think the FA change doesn’t mean anything, I will keep update what will appear on my FA tab in the next few days and see if it is the FA change we all are talking about, if it is, then I don’t it has anything to do with acceptance or denial.
@outofcomfortzone they probably mean that your css profile will be marked as “received”
current freshman at nyu here! i popped in to look at this thread (gl to all applicants!) and i want to say please please please don’t worry about the housing portal/email time/whatever because all it did was stress me + everyone else who applied out.
if you have questions feel free to ask me, but if you ask me questions about applications idk if i remember much from back then (it was too long ago lmao).
