Hooks?-(UC Schools only[mainly berkeley]) Great grandfather was head of UC board of regents in the 70's i think. My direct family line (dad, his parents and their parents) all attended (along with his brother and 3 of his cousins)
total, my family has given upwards of 1.5 million.(they are crazy rich)

Schools

NYU gallatin ED- first choice
Boston University RD
MiddleBury RD
University of chicago EA- just assume i will have amazing
AmherstRD(my uncle is head of philosophy dept)-
Northwestern RD-

Boston college-
Northeastern-
Loyola University of Chicago
Fordham University
Carnegie Mellon-
UCBerkeley(with the hook obviously)
UCLA
UCSD
UCI
Pepperdine

do u really think that of UCB
even though my Great grandfather was Head of the UC Board of Regents
and family relation and donations
i mean, my dad, uncle, 3 of dads cousins, their dad, my dads dad, my dads mom, and my dad's moms parents.
Whom have given in total ide say at least 2 million, and that could be a huge understatement.
Probably a lot more because(my whole family hugely advocates education)
ide say that between 1940s-1960s, my great grandparents were (im guessing) some of the richest people in california, and maybe even the US. They owned Moore drydock company in oakland california, which happened to be the largest Ship building company in world war 2 that built ships for the Pacific theatre.

might be upwards of 10's of millions
My family is probably one of the biggest contributors UCB has ever had.

NYU-Match
Boston University RD-Match
Amherst-Reach
UCBerkeley-High match
UCLA-Slightly High Match
UCSD-Match
UCI-Low Match

An SAT score would help greatly. Currently your bottleneck is the GPA (am I right in saying the weighted GPA is 3.78 out of 5, or is it out of 4?)

I do not know UC's policy regarding legacy but I imagine they would take it into consideration. You're really lucky to have such a rich family and all those connections..

well
its its on a 4.0 scale
and i guess i miss calculated
ill have a 3.49 uw and 3.7 w by time of application

yeah
if it werent for my family, (grandparents and stuff) i wouldnt be able to go to most those schools on my list.
Im one of five children in an upper middle class family(my family isnt exactly rich like the rest of my relatives(grandparents, uncles, etc)), and my older brother and i will be in college at the same time as him for three years. in a row.

yeah
3.49 out of 4
3.7 out of 4...with a maximum of 5

and
