NYU CAS BA/DDS

Hi! NYU is one of my toppppp schools! Getting into their BA/DDS program would be amazing.

Has anyone ever attended this program, and know anything about this program?
Is it competitive to get in this program?
Do you know the stats they are looking for?
Is NYU generous with financial aid packages?

NYU does not guarantee to meet full need…and usually does not. How much aid would you need to attend?

I would attend if it was around 20-25K a year. @thumper1

Well…then you are looking for about $50,000 in financial aid per year. I wouldn’t count on that at NYU. Sure…apply and see…but do have other affordable options on your application list.

Thanks. I was looking around, and maybe temple university.

Are you instate for PA

No, I’m in NJ. Perhaps also Rutgers (3+4 program BS/DMD).
-But the next best thing to NYU, is in my opinion Temple! If I get a good aid package, then I might choose temple.

What year in high school are you? Do you have outstanding grades and an excellent SAT or ACT score? Temple is a public university in Pennsylvania…not New Jersey. Their first mission is to provide aid to their instate students. Temple does not meet full need for all accepted students. The school does offer competitive merit awards…not guaranteed ones.

I would strongly suggest you run the net price calculators for these colleges you are interested in. Make sure the figures you put in are accurate ones. See what you get for a net cost. This will only be an ESTIMATE but it will give you an idea.

If your parents are divorced, self employed, own a business, own real estate other than your primary residence…the net price calculators won’t be accurate.

Can your parents afford $20k to $25k annually for your college costs?

What is their annual income…because the colleges will compute your family contribution based on that and parent assets, not what your family thinks they can pay.

At colleges that don’t meet full need…just remember…your full need won’t likely be met.

What major? If you want to be a dentist, why can’t you go to one of the affordable publics in New Jersey, and apply to dental school when you are done?

true, but I want to apply to one of these 3+4 programs, to avoid the hassle of applying to dental schools (more money to waste), Plus I would not pay for 1 year of bachelors, and finish early.

-Yes, my top option is Rutgers.

  • At this point, I’m applying to the schools I listed above, and see which school offers the best package.

thank you.
