Anyone here a Comp Sci major at NYU?

Please give me your honest opinion on the program. What language is it largely based around (C, Java, Python)? Is it a popular major at NYU? How are the professors?

Thanks

i don't know how popular the major is. but i do know that NYU and Polytechnic just merged into NYUPoly/ the Polytechnic Institute of NYU, and that our computer science and engineering programs are probably going to have major overhauls over the next few years.

:: POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY :: Department of Computer Science and Engineering

How was NYU Comp Sci before the Polytechnic merge? I know that Polytechnic is a tier 3 engineering school.

i honestly don't really know. i don't know anyone majoring in it. i know we have the courant institute, but that's for mathematics.

i know with the poly merger, supposedly within a few years, we'll absorb poly completely and they'll just be NYU. we merged with poly to broaden our horizons for just this reason, heh. we're not strong in engineering, either. guess we can't be well rounded in everything.

Anyone else?

my friend is a comp sci major. he is a smart guy and is always studying and says the program is really hard. its definetely not an easy program here, but i dont know any of the details like what languages or anything. im pretty sure though that comp sci I teaches java though.
