NYU Dramatic Writing

I have read a few threads, but not much info on it. How competitive is it? I know that drama and film are extremely competitive, but how about dramatic writing? I love to write, but I do not have formal training in dramatic writing. I am more intrested in screenwriting then play writing. I know of one place which offers a class, but it is only for 18 plus. I'm not really sure about film directions when I write. Are you suppose to write blocking in the script for a screenplay? Do you write a screenplay like a play? We touched on it a little bit last year in drama, but not much at all. How advanced do they expect you to be? I do not exactly live in LA or NY, so I'm not sure how I can take classes. My plan would be to double major in screenwriting and print journalism. Does NYU give more aid to dramatic writing candidates, since it is not as common. I personally do not know anybody who is intrested in it. I also act and was thinking about majoring in it, but have decided against it. I know NYU has a summer program for it, but 10k isn't really affordable. Does anybody have any inside info about the program. I know that for drama (read on drama boards), that the audition is 50% academics and 50% talent. Is that the same for dramatic writing?

Thanks!

bump anyone?

anyone know anything?
