I thought nyu debunked the myth about the FA change and housing change and all that stuff…
Has anyone else here sent in a waiver request for the noncustodial parent css profile? If so, has yours been granted/denied yet? On Albert, mine still says “received”.
where do you see that on albert?
@goldfishy19 yeah we have an Honors Zoology course that a lot of students take after taking AP Bio as an alternate to dual enrollment. I’m now full of useless facts about animals (did you know that octopi shoot water out of their head to move?)
My housing application also says “non-renewable undergraduate.” Still no FA change. Keeping the faith but also preparing myself mentally for a rejection. My two back up schools that I’ve gotten into are University of Pittsburgh and University of Alabama. I’d rather go to Pitt but Alabama offered me $20,000 a year and probably more if I compete for scholarships. I’m also still waiting for Penn State, I should hear back in January. I can be happy at one of those schools. Like my zoology teacher says, “you’ll grow where you’re planted.” I just wish I could be planted in New York City
@nyuhopeful44 anything can happen, you never know. Just don’t lose your faith. Today when I saw mine say non-renewable, I instantly assumed I was rejected, but apparently everyone has it, so there’s still a chance.
My NYU region admissions officer told me they definitely had my transcript, but the portal hadn’t updated it until maybe like a couple of hours ago. Is this a bad sign?
@worriedrussianparent that’s amazing. hopefully we both get the decision we want!!! good luck to you and your daughter
@gregguitar under financial aid I click “View My To Do List” and it shows my ncp profile as received.
@zolosc I submitted a wavier request for the non-custodial parent too. But I don’t see an option for it to be checked off on Albert. I had called the office of FA like around the 20th and they said that they had received it. So I mean you can just call them if you wanna make sure that they got it. They probably only tell you if you’ve been denied the waiver, and need to get the info from your other parent. If you’ve been approved then they probably don’t say anything.
@goldfishy19 oh yeah no I’m not worried that they didn’t receive it, I’m just really impatient and want to know whether they have granted it or denied it for anyone else already haha. They said that they would notify us directly of the decision, so I think they actually would tell us that they approved it? But then again I can’t find anything on CC about when NYU notifies students about their waiver request.
wait does anyone that submitted a waiver request form for the non-custodial parent see that it has been granted on their to do list. I feel like if it shows that its been accepted that probably means an acceptance. My Albert hasn’t been updated in a while and it still says that the noncustodial profile is requested, but I had called them and they said they received it.
I feel like that too! I did read on a forum from last year that about a week before the decision date their Albert showed their waiver as granted on their to do list but they had yet to receive a formal email from NYU about their waiver.
yeah so far I dont think nyu has granted anyones yet, but idk it makes me nervous because like does it mean I was rejected? I’m probably gonna call them tomorrow to ask about my checklist since it still says that the NCP was requested and maybe they will update it
Same ugh. But also if/when they grant the waiver, I think that could be a good indication of an acceptance. Let us know if the portal updates after you call!
lets just chill, I think the result has already been made, we just have to wait till Dec 15th.
A few of my friends who applied to Tisch and Gallatin have gotten their interview offers from NYU. I have applied to Stern BPE under ED1 but haven’t heard anything from the school yet. I heard rumors that they only send interview offers for those on the admission shortlist. Does this mean that they are not interested in my application? I am so stressed right now, ughhh…
@classof2022 the housing usually changes a few days before the 15th or on the 15th depending on the person, thus that’s why the housing change is such a big deal. In past years people noticed their housing change to freshmen before they got their accepted and most of the time it correlated with an acceptance.
just checked my housing portal. my email and birthday appeared (they weren’t there two hours ago) but the status still remains “non-renewable undergrad”. does that mean anything?
Mine says the same. It might be too early to change but I’m afraid…
@wingsdofly same exact thing happened to me. omg
