*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2021 Discussion*****

Hi guys. Are you trying with any of these links: https://housing.nyu.edu (when I use that one it shows “no application available”) or https://housing.nyu.edu/newyork (if you have applied to the NY campus)
Also make sure that you use https and not http.

cant load the page right now. I had “Summer 17” and could choose Spring 2017 on my housing profile page, It was written Non-renewable…

I got “Summer 17” but changed earlier this morning to no application available.
I had a choice to choose Washington D.C., Paris, London. NY. I applied to Tisch as a first choice and indicated LSP as a second choice.

I can’t load the page right now :frowning: I think it’s overloaded or there is some other problem, but it worked earlier today. Albert doesn’t work neither.

Changed to “No Applications Available” again from “Summer 2017”

What is our nyu.edu email and how do we log onto it?

After extensively looking at NYU ED I and II forums from years past, it seems that the housing change and FA changes are actually myths. It might seem like a great way to tell your admission status, but there is weak correlation between those who have been accepted and those that received housing or FA changes. It also seems like not many people have any changes at all, so it just might not have happened for this round of ED II applicants. However, this decision is driving me crazy, and best of luck to anyone else that is just as nervous/scared as I am for Wednesday

on https://housing.nyu.edu/ my housing changed to “No application Available”, but on https://housing.nyu.edu/newyork it says “Spring 2017” .

https://housing.nyu.edu/newyork Mine says non renewable :frowning: does this mean im out

@ijustwannagotocollege absolutely not! Mine says that as well. I think everyone’s says that right now, and probably won’t change until Wednesday.

@ijustwannagotocollege No, it doesn’t mean you’re out! It just has to do with payment timing… so don’t read into it at all and good luck Wed!

@K01101011 How do you know they’ve assigned you an NYU email?

Does that mean I probably din’t get in? Because I have no nyu.edu it just shows my email

@breezybb I’m sure that you’ll get yours very soon, because I read that everyone has the nyu.edu email at one point.

Sorry, I took down my previous message because the link was broken.

So I had to white-out my private info, but I saw that I had been given a NYU email account based on my application netid@nyu.edu. I wasn’t sure if that meant anything, until I saw this:

http://www.alumni.nyu.edu/s/1068/alumni/interior_3col.aspx?gid=1&pgid=7975&sid=1068

Lifetime NYU Email

“All alumni are eligible for an NYU email account powered by Google. Email addresses are in the format netid@nyu.edu (e.g. abc123@nyu.edu). See below for details about how to enable or continue using your email address.”

So, based on the following:

  1. applicants are provided a unique NYU NetID every cycle
  2. that some ppl have seen @nyu.edu email (with their application NetID) on their housing portal
  3. given that all alumni are eligible for a lifetime NYU email = NetID@nyu.edu

And ASSUMING that NetIDs are not (ever) recycled after the admissions process,
SO WHY would a school go out of their way to assign a NetID@nyu.edu account to some individuals–
IF it also didn’t at least highly indicate that their networks/systems have been directed to CLASSIFY said individuals–as to be “eligible” of NYU alumni status, and restricted to this particular application cohort (NYU EDII, Class of 2021).

So assuming all of this:

Would it then be OK to think that those with NYU.edu email accounts
(as seen on their housing portals AND prior to the announced admission notification date)
that they have been grouped into the “not” negative pool of applicants?

Without any empirical evidence, I can’t prove the positive; at most, I can try to disprove the negative

I’m asking because I’m not certain, so don’t take me at my word. Also, a sample size of one is a data point, not a plausible proof. Also, I’m an idiot - what the hell do I know? :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, It’s not over until it’s 2017/2/15 16:59:59. Good luck, everyone!

Aloha! This is actually my first post ever (long-time lurker)…my housing changed and looks exactly like yours does now. I did not have the nyu.edu email until last night (which would have been morning EST). I am hoping it’s a good sign, too! NYU is my #1 school of choice (academically), but I have athletics to think about, too…I’m so confused at this point I don’t know what I’m going to do…uugghh! I guess I shouldn’t worry about it until I actually find out if I’m in or not, but it’s definitely been an emotional nightmare and has given me some serious anxiety! Good luck everyone.

So to anyone with the .edu email are you able to access your NYU Home e-mail yet. Once you’re logged in at
https://home.nyu.edu/preferences?current_tab=82

@Chances1 no I can’t access mine yet

Neither can I.
Assuming that emails have only been “assigned” but not “activated”.
Eh, I’ve been making a lot of assumptions tho. #dislike #AssUMe

Thanks for that, @K01101011

Please could anyone tell me about this housing thing? My son applied ED2 and is waiting for the decision on F15 and the talks about the housing change confuses me. Is it the indicator of the decision? If he finds nothing on the housing portal, does this mean he is rejected for ED2?
