NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2022

@misingthebeach I’m from the UK—— London to be precise

I applied to New York as my primary campus of interest and Shanghai as a secondary campus and they accepted me into Shanghai and basically said that they determined it was a better fit. Did this happen to anyone else? It doesn’t make sense that I just didn’t get in to the New York campus- I have a 1450 SAT, a 4.0 GPA, 13 AP classes, 500 hours of community service, etc…
Does this mean that I can’t go to NYU New York?

Just got rejected to Steinhardt. Weighted GPA 4.4 and 31 ACT. Curious what it took to get in?

@amackenzie19 I’m from Massachusetts. I love London! Looking forward to meeting you!

@amackenzie19 I am in Stern as well and live in NYC. Congrats on your acceptance.

DD found out at 6:30pm that she was deferred from Steinhardt with a 4.0 UW 1440 SAT score, 5AP’s, lots of leadership and volunteer hours. So crazy that it took so long for them to update.

Accepted Stern

I guess my why NYU essay stood out a bit as I put into a lot of personal experiences centering the program I was applying to (BPE). Anyways uber happy I still end up going to NYC (Rejected by Columbia in ED). Congrats to those who got accepted and for those haven’t - THE BEST IS YET TO COME

Do anyone(ED 1 maybe) know how long it takes to get the financial aid information after you are admitted?
Also, specify how to get it.

I got deferred. Kinda sucks but also doesn’t suck? I mean NYU is still my dream school and my essay was pretty solid but what can you do right?

For all the RD candidates that requested stats: got deferred from Stern Finance with 7/8 A*s or As in IGCSE, 42/45 IB predict, 1500 SAT1, 800/800 SAT II Math II, and ECs including my own consultancy firm, Vice President student council, Director General MUN (besides massive MUN awards), debate team captain with multiple awards, and an Economics research paper published in an International journal.

I’m really happy in comaprision to rejection because the response most of my friends got was that of the latter. I know Stern is really competitive with sub 13% accp, so I’m grateful either way. Plus, it’s my #1 school right now, so :). The response in the email was also quite positive overall. Best of luck to all candidates, and congrats to all acceptances  To all the rejections, I can’t wait to read about your achievements in Forbes or the newspapers.

Btw, the housing change scenario: I had summer 2018 with NYU New York and A.D, so i guess they did leak this year. I didn’t apply to A.D so i don’t know why it was there, and all my friends that got rejected only had summer 2018 New York. Just some insight for RD housing change, i guess.

@Abrollll How is it POSSIBLE you were deferred?! I can’t explain that, but wow: I’m impressed. You are top notch. Good luck to you whatever happens here. (PS - the housing portal Abu Dhabi thing was a thing?!)

i was accepted to NYU under LSP and reading all of these stats i feel like im not qualified enough lol

Hahaha thanks @YoungOne4, It all happens for a reason I guess. Gotta wait till next month now. I don’t know about the Abu Dhabi, but I saw only that change in the half an hour before my decision, so I think it was an indication.
