31-33/34 is for NYU Stern specifically.

Sarora–

Are these number published by NYU? I have tried to find stats for each school–but over the years, I’ve never found them.

Would love the link if you have it.

Sure

<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?;

Do you guys think they’ll be requesting first quarter grades? I hope not…

They may, but you’re going to have to do really bad - like a C in all classes - for them to cancel your admission. They won’t defer you most likely.

No, no… I mean before offering us admission. :P

Only if you’re deferred. I don’t think NYU does that too often…like 10-20 kids, maybe. I think you’ll be fine.

I though NYU didn’t defer?

When you apply ED it is either accept or reject. I believe they offer LSP to some depending (on major), but I am not sure. You would then have to accept LSP or a rejection.

Then there is no need to worry…they won’t request first semester grades for early decision one, they only have six weeks to make a decision. With mailing times and processing times, 2-4 weeks is gone. It’s yes or no.

I know they don’t do LSP for Stern.

Would you guys accept a LSP admission - just curious?

what’s LSP?

Liberal Studies Program - basically, if you’re denied direct admission into CAS or most of the NYU schools (Stern excluded…not sure about Tisch), but anyways, it’s a 2 yr program of liberal arts and you transfer into the college of your choice based on GPA…you need to do fairly well. It’s kind of a defer into LSP.

So there’s direct admission, defer into LSP, or deny.

Oh, I know all about LSP. I’d say LSP is still admission though, just not admission to the school of your choice. :P

And that’s relieving to hear about 1st quarter grades. Mine aren’t terrible but I’ve had a pretty significant drop from last year.

What if I’m doing really well this quarter…would they get annoyed if I sent them in, or could it help?

It won’t. ED1 is specifically freshman to junior with a final report that doesn’t really do much unless you completely fail. If your GPA is low, but your current grades are high (like me), this is what ED2 or RD is for - due Jan 1, they show your updated trend and GPA.

Again, sending in senior grades won’t help for ED1: by the time you send them the grades, they’ll most likely be done the decision or in review.

Hmm, okay…yeah I don’t think I need to because it’ll be about the same as what I’ve been getting throughout high school, but it would just show more APs. I don’t think it really matters though.

Shouldn’t your official transcript show your senior year classes? Mine has my senior classes but not my grades.

Oh and you put your senior schedule in the common app anyways.

That’s true…I’m sure that’s all they care to see for ED1. It’s crazy to think they’re going to start reviewing all the applications really soon!

I don’t think that they are accepting students into LSP on the common app you apply directly to LSP program. It may only be very few instances where a CAS student is rejected from CAS and offered admission into the LSP program. In previous years, it could not be applied directly to, now they have changed that.
