NYU (GSP) London or GWU?

I got admitted into NYU's GSP program in London and I think I have a fair chance in getting in GWU, both for Economics as my course.

*If I get into GWU, I'm planning to transfer to the Elliot School of International Studies.

Which is better though??

i'd pick nyu, because its reputation is better. Also harder to get into than gwu. But others may disagree. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I'd pick GWU.

London would be a cool place to study, but I think it's important to get the American college experience too. Go to GW and study abroad for a semester.

And the Elliott School is actually REALLY prestigious.

World Changer.....What do you "really" mean by "The American College experience" What does American colleges offer that UK counterparts don't? Thanks..

"i'd pick nyu, because its reputation is better. Also harder to get into than gwu. But others may disagree. Good luck in whatever you decide."

Why would you choose a school just because it is harder to get into...It totally doesnt matter imo...
OP: If you would like to study in London (which is a great city that you cant compare to any other uni city except NYC ) go ahead and study there. I am sure that you will fully enjoy it. (But it will be super-pricey cauz of exchange rates and expensive life in London)

In the UK, college is all about getting a degree and launching into a career.

In the US, college is more than just that. It's an experience.

I got the offer of GSP London as well. It's hard to decide but I think I will choose NYU. It's cool to study in London for one year and then in New York for three years, isn't it?

...It depends. Would you be in the states your freshman year? I think that's really important.

"In the UK, college is all about getting a degree and launching into a career.

Well..I think college experience just depends on what you want to get out of it. Most of my friends (I live in MI) went to college just to get a degree so that they work at better jobs. On the other hand my cousin started Nottingham(UK) last year..and she started to consider different things and even an acedemia career...SO things depend...and it is just better to avoid stereotypes....British system is more direct with its structure but it most of the times gives you more freedom to explore things by yourself. (In American colleges u re instructed on that exploring bit as well..) It depends on the individual...

NYU GSP is tough, just because if you don't keep the GPA up then you can't get into CAS and end up with an associates degree.

GW Elliot School is highly reguarded, but do you have to apply to a different school to get in (and thus have different acceptance stats and requirements)????

a different perspective? a different history? a different student body.

go for GWU because their setting in DC is worth much more than NYU’s reputation. you’ve got NGOs, government agencies and offices to get internships at. Also they are a great source of guest lectureships along with campus programs (speeches and discussion.) GWU hands down.

I would pick GWU because I love DC and because the school has outstanding career placement and internship services, especially for SIS and political science.
