My process wasn’t traditional compared to hers and the HEOP process but extremely happy!! We both got almost full rides.

@savagescholar My academics were within their average acceptance numbers. My interview was very spontaneous given that I wasn’t really scheduled for one. My twin had received her invitation and I hadn’t. I accompanied her to hers and the day before and the day of the interview we got to speak to the director and assistant director of HEOP and they decided to interview me too. I received my eligibility email the next day after the interview. I talked about why nyu, how I felt the program would help me and what extracurricular I’m excited to be part of. She applied to CAS and I applied to Stern but we both got into the Liberal Studies program which was our second choice. Thank you so much!!

My friend just told me this cause her sat score is above a 1900 and she’s worried she’s not gonna get into heop: “Thats close to 1890 which is close to 1850 and 1850 is close to 1800 which is close to 1750 so hence, i have a 1750.” LOL is 1900+ possible for HEOP?

@ChloeMartinez I don’t really know, but if I had to choose something I’d say my academics and my background. I’m an immigrant. I moved to the states four years ago so maybe that played into the decision since I’m minority and diversity is important to them. I wouldn’t think about race, if they think you are what they are looking for, you’ll get in. There are a lot of factors that override race (: In order for you to get admitted to NYU under HEOP, you have to receive an interview invitation. It’s a requirement. I dressed casual yet also semi formal for mine with a leather jacket, black jeans, ankle boots and a blouse. Nothing major.
