@naya123 just curious, what time are the interviews for Wednesday and Saturday?

@ChloeMartinez i submitted a film and talked about making the film in my common app essay

@robertgordonCA did you apply through HEOP?

No idk what that is haha

@ChloeMartinez 4 on Wednesday and 10 on Sat.

@robertgordonCA I figured lol, you’re from CA?

Hey I’m new to this forum. So I got the email saying I’m considered for HEOP. Tomorrow is my interview. I’m sooooo nervous but at the same time I’m excited

@Fatouuu hey, congrats & when did you get the email?

@Fatouuu congrats! what are your stats like?

I got the email last Wednesday or Thursday lol. I’m not the best when it comes to my stats which is why I’m surprised I got considered. But I had an 86% average, SAT score of 1480 with everything combined & I was in my school’s softball team for 3 years. I also did a couple of extracurricular activities during the summer.

I received an email today stating that I am being consider for HEOP. I guess this is a good thing but I’m wondering if I should even go to the interview even though my parents make almost 3x the financial requirement? If I don’t get into HEOP, does this mean that I won’t get into NYU?

My Stats
SAT Total: 1870 (Superscored)
SAT Subject Tests: 620 Math, 650 US History
GPA-UW/W: 3.7 Weighted

DO I HAVE STILL A CHANCE OF GETTING IN STERN?

@berniesanders2016 first thing, if you’re considered for HEOP regular admission is out of the question, did you click HEOP on the application? Also if there’s anything your parents really have a problem with like medical bills or whatever that can be another reason they considered you, tbh I think you should call instead of passing it up. & also please make sure your financial is correct https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/apply/freshmen-applicants/opportunity-programs/college-programs/new-york-state-heop.html

I didn’t initially apply for HEOP because I knew I wouldn’t qualify. My parents make almost 120,000 and there’re only four people living our house. My parents’ debt plays a huge role in where the money goes to, though.

They yeah you should definitely call them. @berniesanders2016

@ChloeMartinez Any luck? Everybody is getting interviews and I’m just here like… :((

@savagescholar same I’m just here bawling my eyes out. I honestly don’t know if they are still sending out emails and no idea how they chose the potential applicants.

Is anyone going to the interview today ?

Wow. So I found out why I was denied. Family assets. My parents have 16k in the bank and 29k income making 45k for 4 family household when the eigibility is 44k. Guess I’m not going to NYU after all.

@savagescholar sorry to hear that…maybe you should consider regular admission because you never know. How did you find out? Through email?

I was referring to my denial from stony brook. If NYU takes assets into consideration as well then I will most likely get rejected and explains why I have not received an invitation yet. I called stony brook. @jjkookie
