Haha thanks! And your gc is right! @naya123
Rejected from Bard today andddd the anxiety continues.
@savagescholar and @ChloeMartinez did you guys ever call to see if you were referred to heop?
I did . They said they can’t tell me. @203267422
Hi everyone!
I was questioning as the whether or not to post this but, whatever.
Like everyone else on this forum, I was also a HEOP applicant and got interviewed by NYU for ED2.
I was rejected, I gotta admit i was really pissed off, i tough it was b/c i was white (i was the only white kid in my interview day). I sent in all the documents on time, spent a lot of money faxing everything over and then Rejection!
However as time has gone by, i understand more about the HEOP program. I now know that you NEED to have a record of low income status. So if you had a high income in 2014(more then threshold) but in 2015 you had a low income(below threshold) you are at a disadvantage for HEOP. One thing i highly recommend to all is that you ask questions! and know your income history(the most crucial part!)
If you get rejected like me remember that if you do get into another school via HEOP or SEEK you can transfer into NYU heop.
Good Luck!
How do they check your previous incomes?doesnt matter I guess. I didn’t get an interview and by now, it’s over. @pleasedonot
@pleasedonot thanks for sharing that
@savagescholar would you mind telling me your stats?
@savagescholar they asked me personally for the 2013 2014 2015 returns. They only require 2014 and 2015 returns but since I didn’t file the 2015 prior to the interview, so they wanted the 2013 return ASAP and 2015 as soon as I filed it. They may ask you for something different. But the important thing is that grades really don’t play a key role in heop qualification.
@pleasedonot ahhh. I didn’t even get an interview so I didn’t have the chance to show them. @203267422 it’s 1650 SAT and 84.7 gpa. I was lazy but I was still in honors. This year, I’m taking AP/College/Honor classes and have a 94.1 first semester but I guess it’s too late as well.
I took extra classes that only allowed me one free(lunch) which end totaled to 8 classes out of 9 periods.all my classes were directed towards my major as well(Fianance).
Literally like five days left… I’m so nervous.
@203267422 me toooo!!! Is it Thursday or Friday? Because senior skip day for us is Friday lol
@savagescholar don’t sweat it though, sure there’s a school out there waiting for you.
@naya123, listen… Apparently they send the rejections out first. So the later the better!
@savagescholar just chill. to be quiet honest people at NYU heop are really lazy, especially the administrators. I would get in contact with them ASAP though and make sure the interviews haven’t ended.
Everybody is telling me I won’t get in, so I’m now just patiently waiting for my rejection.
@203267422 This one counselor (not mine) told me I wouldn’t get in because the last person from our school who got in HEOP two years ago had a 3.7 and I have a 3.1. I haven’t talked to him at all lately because tbh I really don’t want negative energy around me at a crucial time like this
@naya123, that’s dumb. The fact you had a info session already means you meet their requirements!
@203267422 someone in the NYU forum said their Financial Aid Summary showed “2017” and mine doesn’t and I’m literally sitting here crying buckets
