@Smartisan5
GPA: 90.47 unweighted
IB Diploma Candidate
Extracurricular: To many to list( Science Programs Mainly)
SAT:1200
I feel like I’m a good candidate, it’s probably the IB Diploma that’s taking away my chances from I basically got dropped from every other SUNY EOP besides Stony
Based on a quick look at your academic materials, your high school GPA/average would be too HIGH for consideration to EOP.
While you were deferred to regular decision, that does not mean you were denied. EOP is considering students who show disadvantages academically, not just students who fell under general admission criteria for Early Action.
Your application will remain in the regular/general decision pool.
@Smartisan5 However, my letter says a different thing.
"Your application to Binghamton University for Fall 2017 was as an Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) applicant. Candidates for this program must meet both academic and economic guidelines in order to be eligible. Due to the strengths reflected by your academic record, you are not eligible for EOP.
I am pleased to inform you we plan to review your application for regular admission. You do not need to take any action at this time."
@chaoz I think it’s too soon because the financial aid stuff for ED 2 was due yesterday so they still have to read it and find out if you are qualified academically
@Farahana Oh, could you please tell what they say about the information session — if you call? Like if they have started to invite people? Thank you so much.
@chaoz Sure I will ! I emailed them , so hopefully I’ll get a response by tomorrow . If you didn’t get an invite yet , it’s fine. They prob will send you one later sometime this week
@Farahana I agree with chaoz, it may be a system problem, because I was reading last year’s thread and many of them have the same problem as you, and the best way is to contact them.
