Let me preface this by saying that I want an undergraduate experience in business and then want attend law school. One of my dream law schools is NYU law and I was wondering how much of an impact my undergraduate institution would have on a potential acceptance. For instance, would it be easier to be accepted to NYU law from NYU Stern or Georgetown MSB?

One of NYU Law’s largest feeder schools is NYU. Whether that’s correlational evidence or causation, it’s hard to tell.

That said, you will find few people on CC that would recommend going on to law school after getting a business degree. The legal field is highly over-saturated with too many new law graduates for not enough jobs. If you can get into NYU Law and afford it though, it might be in favor.

Go to the school where you feel you fit in best and will be happiest. If you do well at Georgetown or NYU and have strong LSAT scores, I’d expect that you will be fine with and undergraduate degree from either place.
And I know lots of people who went from undergrad business to law school and did very well.
But as a mom, I’d say don’t try to pre-plan your whole life at the age of 17. You may well stick with your plan, but leave yourself some room to change your mind.
