Hi all! So I was accepted to all of the above schools. While NYU has been my top, i was admitted into the core program at the liberal studies program (nyc campus). I want to go into PR/journalism, so what is a better opportunity? I love NYU, but i don't know if i will have the opportunities i would have at the other schools. Could i study abroad my sophomore year before declaring my major? can i still get communications internships throughout my freshman and sophomore year? BU and Syracuse are at the top of my list as well, I just don't know which college will give me the most opportunities to pursue.

At NYU, journalism is a required double major (so you have to pick another major to do with it), so first make sure you would be able to complete both around the LSP core classes. You can either study abroad sophomore year in Florence, which I believe offers second year LSP classes, or there is a way to apply for a waiver to push your second year LSP classes into a single semester so that you can study abroad anywhere second semester of sophomore year. Is there are particular reason you want to study abroad sophomore year/before declaring your major? Many people go during their junior years as well.

As for internships, you can still get them, though they are very competitive given that communications is popular and it’s NYC.
