Hi everyone,

I'm new (just signed up today) and would like to know what my chances are as a transfer applicant to NYU's School of Nursing.

I am a White female from the greater New York area. I have average stats - or below average - 1810 SAT, 89.5/100 weighted GPA in high school. I went to a very demanding private high school in New Jersey and was very involved - 200+ hours of volunteer work at a nearby hospital and soup kitchens, etc. I was also a D1 athlete (crew team) my entire first year - I'm not sure if they will take that into consideration, though.

I will be transferring from Lehigh University to a local college (Dominican College, to be exact) because it's past deadlines and this school offers rolling admissions. My GPA while at Lehigh was terrible - 2.7 first semester, 2.3 second semester. I'm repeating a course to replace one of my failing grades, and taking another course to boost my GPA this summer. If all goes well, I'm hoping to bring my GPA up to a 3.00 by the end of the summer and a 3.4 by the end of the fall semester at Dominican.

So, what are my chances? Is it a complete waste? I will not be looking for financial aid. Are there any other schools you all would suggest based on my stats? Nursing programs only, please.
