NYU PRECOLLEGE STUDENT LIFE

Hi,
I was accepted into the NYU Precollege program. My idea is to try to see if I like the college experience in a city rather than on a college campus in a college town. However, I do not know if the program will allow me to venture on my own through the city during the day and even on the weekends. For example, I would love to take a dance class outside of the college ‘campus’, visit family living in the suburbs or even maybe take a train to New Jersey or Boston for the day?

Has anyone attended this program and can give me insight on the student life?

Thanks

bump… I am considering this program and would like to know if students can venture out on their own or if they must be in groups of two or more at all times

Obviously this doesn’t help for last summer, but for students who are considering it this year, you are allowed to venture out on your own anywhere you want as long as you are back in the dorm at 11 pm and back in your room at midnight (one hour later on Fri/Sat nights). I live in the suburbs outside Philadelphia, so a train is a quick trip, and no one had a problem with that. I also know students who went up to Connecticut/Boston for the day.
