NYU Precollege?

hey there!!

I'm a junior in highschool in Canada; and i was just wondering, is applying to the NYU Precollege program helpful for admissions into the actual NYU? I'm thinknig about either economics or political science in CAS for applying

but anyways, what's the scoop on Precollege? just another way to make money? a fun experience? worth the price?

thanks a lot ))

“Successful completion of any advanced or college-level classes will add to your admission profile. For more information on how to apply for an undergraduate degree at NYU, visit Undergraduate Admissions.” - NYU

While it will boost your admissions profile, it is unknown by how much,

Ironically, I applied for the program my junior year and was rejected, but then was accepted into the school ED. I know others who did the program, applied ED, and were then rejected. So it all really depends.

what school did you apply for? CAS? how were your academics and EC’s?

No, Tisch for BFA acting. So to be fair, my audition was
Half of my acceptance into the school along with my academics, but precollege was solely academics.

I think my college app was boosted academically by an increase in GPA over my
Junior year, AP scores, SAT 2s, and increase in number of Aps taken, and MUCH better essays. And Good recs.

so are you saying that Precollege is soley based on marks? they’ll only accept you if you have amazing marks? **** my marks are mediocre… :(

I got accepted to NYU Precollege with a gpa of 3.5 and a class rank in the top 25% but I think the hardest thing about NYU Precollege is paying for it, tuition plus room & board is $12,300
