NYU Regular Decision 2018 Discussion

Financial aid summary is up!

I guess being poor pays off!

Still can’t see my financial aid offer. :confused: Just rejected by Amherst as well

Holy crap they gave a good cas scholarship $40.000… woah

I haven’t gotten my decision on the portal or my email. Anyone else having the same problem?

Nope, no update on financial aid. No email either. Losing sleep :(

My financial aid information is up: I got accepted into NYU Poly with a $14,000 / year Promise scholarship. My stats are as follows:
2240 SAT
4.0 UW GPA

@mrmistur I still didn’t get a reply…

@CompSciBrit96, congrats! So I guess if it is not updated you did not get anything :/

Any international students here who got emails?
Or their FA summary?

Still can’t see my financial aid offer. I’m sure it’ll be next to nothing, though.

You can ask NYU to revise your financial aid if you didn’t receive any!! There is a kid on our Fb page who received no aid initially but when trough the very tedious revision process and ended up getting glib his tuition covered.

Also, I will strongly caution everyone and remind you that YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED YOUR SCHOLARSHIP FOR ALL 4 YEARS.

I have a family friend who transferred out of NYU two years ago by the time she was a junior, her FA had been revised so much that she was not able to afford her last two years. Your FA will change every year. Keep this in mind while making your decisions!!

Lyndak…I dont know why you keep saying this…I have 5 family members currently on large merit scholarships attending different major institutions and their scholarships are guaranteed for 4 years as long as they maintain specific GPA. I have been offered 5 major merit scholarships and they are all guaranteed for 4 years. Is NYU different?

Sorry I typed that all wrong and can’t seem to edit.

What I was saying is: you can get your FA revised. It’s a long and tedious process but there is still hope for those who didn’t receive enough FA.

Accepted into Liberal Studies Freshman year in London - Yippeee!! Now to try to afford it! Got $13K scholarship for first year, and have to reapply each year.

@bigbooklover

I don’t know which college your family member is attending but NYU is known for revising FA often. That’s just what this school is known for. I’m sorry if it makes you down but it’s just the raw truth. If you have friends who go to NYU, you’d know it to be true because it is one of the greatest sorrows and laments of current NYU students.

@bigbooklover

And yes, at NYU, they use the FA application process as an excuse to revise your FA. You have to submit the FAFSA again every year to find out what your aid will be. It is different every year how much you receive.

@suryaslash Got my email at 2:36 pm EDT. No FA yet

Accepted to Stern!
GPA: 3.8 UW/4.5 W
Rank: top 5%
ACT: 35
I got into NYU Shanghai earlier this month and currently have financial aid info for it on Albert, but it has stayed the same as of now, so idk if this means I won’t be getting any money for the NYC campus.

At this point, if I’m still having the ‘‘Award access not available.’’ message, does that mean I get no Financial Aid package? What message did those who applied Early Decision get if they didn’t receive any aid?
