NYU Regular Decision 2018 Discussion

@tselle
I emailed NYU a few hours ago prodding them about the issue. I’d expect an answer around Monday-Tuesday

Accepted to Stern.
ACT: 28/ 29 SS (but E+M were better good, 32 avg.)
GPA: 96.978
Rank:12/107
Very strong essays and solid ECs

Didn’t know NYU was going to release decisions today, but I got into Tufts today and realized that I should check and see if there’s a change in my portal. I saw the acceptance notification in Albert for CAS at about 4pm and the email arrived at about 8pm. Unlike many of you, I have an FA award in my portal. Wonder why.

Accepted CAS
GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1920 (550 CR, 650 M, 720 W)
This proves that nobody should ever let SAT’s stop them from applying to their dream school. Still can’t believe I got in. Got my email at 11:38 PM. My decision was first available on Albert & my (pretty generous) FA is on the portal as well. Congrats to everyone else who got in!

Are most of you guys planning to attend NYU? Isn’t the price tag a bit high? It is for me at least.

@sfxchris
Yeah, I also sent them an email. That Liberal Studies Scholarship makes NYU’s financial aid package significantly higher than any other school I applied to. It would be great if it applied for all four years, or at least have some guarantee that Tisch will match that with a separate award in sophomore year.

I still haven’t received an email. My acceptance and financial aid award came up on albert at 4:30PM EST. Does this mean I was just rejected or I just haven’t gotten the email?

What about merit scholarship? I don’t see anyone receiving them?

I got a merit scholarship of 23k! (I dont qualify for any aid since I’m an international, so I assume the money I’ve received is merit-based scholarships.) Is it possible to appeal for a teeny bit more money?

D is ACCEPTED to STERN!
SAT 2000/ACT31
4.0W
great recs and ecs
all loans with 1000 scholarship :frowning: only one more school to go before decision time.

Hello. I just received my acceptance email from NYU. And when I went to check Financial Aid on ALbert, i wasnt able to access it. Also my to-do list still requests for a non-custodial css profile even though i sent that out back in November and all the other schools i applied to got it. do you think this may hinder me from getting financial aid? because I definitely have proof college board sent it. Any one else in the same boat?

My daughter cannot access financial aid, but there is nothing in her to do list. We have had that issue with other schools not getting part of the CSS requirements, while others did. You just need to let them know you sent it on time.

@mrssoffel thank you. How did it end up with the other schools where part of the css profile didn’t get fulfilled? Were they able to offer you financial aid once it was cleared out? I just sent them an email with a picture of the confirmation from collegeboard from November. Im just really nervous. Please tell me it all ended up okay …

wowww i got $37,000 a year in financial aid. is that normal?

@ArthurPen57 I wish I could tell you something definitive but my daughter did not get into the schools where we had that issue (Wesleyan and Stanford). One school realized they had it, but it was filed wrong and another noted that we had gotten it in on time and said it would not affect aid. Just be sure to call them Monday and explain the situation, since they will be flooded with emails. Hope it all works out for you!

On my financial aid summary page, it says
“Your financial aid package has been revised based on updated information and is awaiting a validation process which may result in changes to your award package. No changes can be made until the validation process has completed.”

Does this mean I will receive a different amount from the one I got? Or does everyone have this?

I was accepted to Gallatin with a 81 GPA. 1900 SATs. Great essays. IF I CAN MAKE IT HERE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

i was accepted cas :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

has anyone heard about presidential honors scholarships??

or any kind of merit scholarship (NOT financial aid)???

Got my email at 9:30PM CST. Still no notice of financial aid.

If I did not submit CSS profile, is that a definite nono for merit aid?
