@fishnlines29 I sent it about 2 days ago. no response yet. I’m getting worried and it sucks because I got my acceptance on the 30th but I don’t know whether or not to be excited because I can’t commit without knowing my FA first. do you think I should just wait for an email response?
@upstatechild I tried to call using my phone but it wouldn’t go thru because apparently my phone plan doesn’t include international calls hahah (I don’t live in the US). so email is kind of all I’m relying on right now. did they give you sufficient financial aid even if it was determined late?
Hi there, I’m having the same problem as you do and I’ve also sent them an email but considering the time it took them to update my application information the last time (it took 10 days), I’d say you’re better off going with a phone call. I’m having someone who lives in the US contact them right now.
My acquaintance just came off the phone with them and as it turns out my CSS Profile did not match with my application for some reason so they wasn’t able to calculate my financial aid. They said that the only thing I can do now is wait for their decision about my financial aid which will come in about 5-10 business days. I seriously hope that this won’t affect the amount that they’re going to offer me but somehow I sincerely doubt that but who knows, right?
@indiahyland 2 days ago as in Saturday? Not sure if they are well staffed on weekends or not, no idea. But I would call anyway just to make sure they aren’t missing any pertinent information to finalize the FA package. The website says FA packages will be released “early April” so I wouldn’t worry, they’re likely just trying to get through it all.

has anyone gotten their admissions packet in the mail?
@takinpelu Mine just arrived, I live near Pittsburgh, PA
As an engineering student, am I only allowed to live in either Clark or Othmer Hall? Or are these only options for me?
I got a 25k CAS scholarship which is apparently pretty generous for NYU. It’s still a lot of loans for me but obviously not as bad as the full $70k. I sent an email too and they got back to me really quickly. I’d assume that they’re catching up on things after the weekend.
Is anyone planning on going to the Day on the Square event on the 14th? What are some major differences between the smaller day events vs. the Weekend on the Square main event?
is it true that freshman year of college most people will be taking liberal core classes first rather than classes pertaining to their major?
@indiahyland I emailed the admissions office last year and they didn’t reply at all haha. I also emailed the FA office last week and they haven’t replied via email yet. I would just call. You may have to hold on the line a bit (I didn’t cause I called at exactly 9:00AM by the second when they opened), but it would be worth it.
Also, my memory’s so bad that I have no idea what I put down. Although it would’ve been in NZD, and currently 1NZD = 0.7 USD, so that exchange rate would’ve made our income tiny.
And for international calling, I recommend using the phone app called WePhone. International calling for me is VERY $$$, but with this app it’s super cheap - 1 cent per minute, and they give you tons of credit for free when you download it and stuff, and if you want to buy more credit, it’s only like $1.50 or something. Works exactly like a phone; that’s how I called the States from NZ.
@SpicyRamen ok thanks so much! I’ll definitely try calling
@indiahyland I forgot to mention in the above post that WePhone is a wifi calling app, so it uses an internet connection (which you obviously have) to call. It’s available for all major operating systems, and you can even download and call from your Windows computer/laptop if you don’t have a phone.
@SpicyRamen thank you so much!! really appreciate it!
Anyone know how the wifi works at Clark Hall? NYU’s website claims “Clark Street
Internet. Wireless internet is available. Each room is able equipped with high-speed Ethernet access.”, but this is listed separately from NYU Roam… How is the quality? etc.
first post, should’ve done this a while ago
