***NYU Regular Decision Class of 2021 Discussion***

@nyuhope17 does it make academic 2017-2018 under housing disappear?

Guys, please stop reading into this too much. It literally means nothing. Just wait less than a week until decisions come out. The only thing that is an indication of acceptance is if non-renewable undergrad chances to freshmen, which only happens a bit before decisions are released (some people still get in even without this change). This year may be different because it appears that they are rolling decisions throughout the 30th. Just please calm down :)>-

yall are crazy lol

It is six days until admissions decisions come out. So until then, just assume that nothing means anything, if for no other reason than to protect yourself from feeling overly disappointed.

@philosphists123 the years in housing just disappear. I don’t think it’s related to the housing application or to acceptance.

Has anyone elses Albert portal been updated. There are now two tabs one for student and the other for applicant.

Where do you see two tabs on the portal?

@SternAspirations I have unavailable but expiration 2/17/2018. Take everyone’s advice. Don’t read into it.

At the top of the Albert Portal.

The expiration date is meaningless to admission, you are required by the system to change your password at least once per year for security

Our younger D is also waiting to hear from NYU on the 30th. However, our older D was accepted two years ago (2015) and was surprised to learn from a friend that the acceptances had been released several days prior to the announced date. Also we did not see anything that indicated her acceptance before it was released (and like so many here, it was not for a lack of trying  )

@aarrggh what do you mean the acceptances had been released several days prior to the announced date? As in NYU sent acceptances first and then rejections/waitlists?

@philosphists123 as in the notification date was originally April 1 but they moved it up to March 30. They didn’t always do that.

@getaclucy well he said “several days prior to the announced date”. I don’t think a day before is usually known as “several days”.

Question!!!

I was comparing NYUs CDS to my safety schools’. my safety (60% acceptance rate) that admits average people in my school has 39% of people with gpas 3.75 and higher. NYU has 29% of people with gpas 3.75 and higher. Why is this?

What’s even more confusing is that most of the people in my school admitted into NYU are mostly in the top 20%, while my safety admits most people in the top 50% of kids at my school…again…why…

@philosphists123 I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re talking about but even if it’s not you’re still gonna get your decision in six days which isn’t too far away. Until then relax, get some lemonade, sit back, and watch a Disney Channel movie.

@getaclucy even then. Several days is definitely not a day before the announced date.

@philosphists123 there’s no need to be so pedantic about it… geez, calm down! you sound way to stressed about it–at this point there is nothing you can do. get involved in something else and take your mind off of nyu decisions and get off cc.

@Faultystart there is though. Several days does not mean one day. I’m just making sure he knows the definition of several days. And it’s perfectly normal for one to be excited about decisions. No need to tell anyone to calm down because no one does

Anyway, I heard some people got an e-mail saying that they had been considered for the school in which they applied to primarily, but then will “solely be admitted to NYU Shanghai”. What does this mean in terms of people who did not receive that specific email?
