@philosphists123 however u did imply that I was mentally ill which u have no right to, nor can u go around assuming people’s mental health. Wow is this really the kind of people who applied to NYU, I hope they expose u for the type of person u r cause if you’re anything like u r on CC I pity the committee that admit u
@SammyDKMV I probably got rejected. I will let you know, though.
edit: I will get rejected. You probably already knew that. I wish the best in your endeavors, though! I hope you get into NYU!
@philosphists123 no need u said it not me
@SammyDKMV Thank you!
@philosphists123 Thank u and good luck with all your endeavors also, but hopefully they won’t be on CC
@SammyDKMV They won’t, because I have Aspergers, but thanks!
That escalated so quickly
Simple: You are trying to compare apples to oranges. Your in-state school is a public university - goal is to admit as many qualified “instate” candidates as possible for a lower tuition than kids coming from out of state - since much of the funding comes from the state government.
NYU is not New York’s “state school,” (SUNY is). NYU is a private university - not public - and more selective (and more expensive). You are very lucky to have been admitted to your instate school which just happens to be a top national university!
I’m literally screaming this is the most wild and embarrassing thread I’ve ever seen
this is soooo funny
What did I even just read lol I feel like I’m reading the comments section of FB news posts
@philosphists123 Why are you being so literal??? People exaggerate and often don’t use words by their dictionary definition and as long as we knew what he/she meant, we don’t need to question their choice of words. Even if we got confused, the right way to have responded would have been to say “By several you mean 2 days right?” That way there would be no disrespect or making it seem like we are better or more educated than the other person.
I’m saying this as an unbiased outsider.
Let’s just drop the side conversation… back to regularly scheduled programming - all about NYU!!
Gosh. I came back to a plethora of notifs…but you know what. HOW ARE WE ALL HOLDING UP? Anxious, aren’t we all? Hahaha. I think the best thing to do is to not check the portal. I’ve stopped myself from checking and won’t check until the set day they are going to be released…that will be the day I check my email obsessively.
We can all obsess then. For now, go find something else to do. Immerse yourself in work. Be patient too.
Good things come to those that wait is what they say…
Just wondering, but are any of you guys interested in forming a CC group chat for those accepted? It would be nice to get to know some people beforehand.
@Rav115 sure, but I think there’s already a FB group for those who get accepted
Yes, there’s a FB page for accepted students - once admitted, the mods send you a link.
Ohhhh I didn’t know that! Thanks
@drowning2021 You haven’t seen the northwestern thread yet, eh? I think a sociologist would have a field day evaluating the accelerated hostility on some of these threads. Yowza.
could anyone guesstimate lsp’s acceptance rate? I heard NYU’s acceptance rate is 26% without lsp, and 33% including lsp. someone wanna do the calculations
