NYU regular decision class of 2024!

Sooo quick question for everyone I know this is the worst way to start a question but I saw this chick on tiktok who claims to have gotten her decision already but I applied to galletin and they said they’re gonna give me a decision on Monday is everyone getting a decision then or …?

@jjaguar125 everybody is getting it on monday

@jjaguar125 Maybe it was ED?

how do people know it’s coming out at 12?

@hercomesthesun45 someone on this thread called the admissions office

@shrimptacospls Your application sounds phenomenal. Way better than mine. With those stats, facts, and ECs, I have no doubt that you’re getting in.

@Classof2020Kid I appreciate that!! I am hoping so, even though my chances seem slim. Good luck to you, I am hoping you hear good news!

Do merit awards come in acceptance letters? Also is a 31 act and a 4.3 gpa in good range?

yea i have a 3.69 and 1490, range?

Does anyone know if GPA and class rigor is more important or test scores to NYU?

Probably depends on the program/school you applied to.

https://www.nyu.edu/content/dam/nyu/institutionalResearch/documents/CDS_2017-2018.pdf

They say that all of those factors are “very important,” but I think a lot of colleges will take into consideration your GPA + difficulty of your school more bc they are more longterm vs the SAT/AP scores which are like one or two sittings. (Also a lot of schools might not rank or have GPAs, I think it would depend on your situation) Please correct me if I’m wrong tho :-)!!

Anyone know how tough admissions are for the School of Professional Studies in comparison to other schools at NYU?

@shrimptacospls your application is considered in the context of your school - So being salutatorian and relatively high test score is helpful to you.

Those are both in range. Admissions as you know also looks at essays, letters of rec etc in decisions.

The financial aid award is released at the same time as the decision.

NYU really is holistic. My daughter knows people who have relatively better GPA vs test scores as well as the other way round who have been admitted. (She herself was admitted over a HS classmate with both better gpa and test scores than she had.) It’s an important part of the application, but it’s not the only thing.

I’m so excited for Monday!! Does anyone want to share what major they are going for/applied for? I applied to Biology :slight_smile:

Someone else from my high school already got admitted ED… do you think this will lower my chances of getting in? We even applied for the same major so I am very worried :frowning:

@TexasRat21 me too! stats?

I applied for biology, too!! haha :slight_smile:

i don’t have the fall 2020 option for housing and i’m really nervous about it :frowning: NYU is my dream school i’m so scared

hello! I was actually wondering the same. does your school use Naviance or another portal that lets you see the past decision outcomes at your school? It helped me see how many ppl apply + how many from that bunch are admitted based on my high school’s stats/avgs that NYU favors
