son waitlisted.
1380 - SAT
4.5 - Weighted GPA
3.81 - Unweighted
Few ECs
@richbilly I got waitlisted ED2 SPS…
I am from CA, got accepted to SPS, only $6000 merit scholarship, rest of the fees out of pocket is $72000/year
@Lasttime2020 Kindly share your stats, thanks!
Have got the full letter, some stuff that may be of interest:
Although the number of expected enrolling freshmen is the same, they actually made offers to 700 more applicants (13000 vs 12300 last year), so they obviously expect yield to fall a bit.
And with no further details, they said that the admit rate to 3 undergraduate colleges were in single digits - I presume stern and Tisch are two of them. Not sure which the third might be - one of the smaller ones maybe? I don’t think it’s CAS but can’t say for sure.
@JY2003 4.4W GPA, 32 ACT, EC’S
@Lasttime2020 Thanks!
Is this merit based or Merit/need based? Is it possible to get Merit based scholarship with higher amount in NYU? if yes, what is the stats requirements for merit based?
The above question with regards to the below post.
Got into Tandon engineering for chem E
SAT:1530
SAT II: BIO M:780 Math 2: 800
14/1000 (a very very big public school in PA), 6.26 Weighted GPA- 6.8 max given for A+ in AP classes
Decent essays, but tbh not that great
Not much for EC’s either. I had leadership in some clubs and some college math competition awards. Also taking dual enrollment.
Really surprised I got in and with 40k a year. I did not check yet but is this held for all 4 years if I maintain my grades?
For future people looking at this thread…I was accepted into CAS with a very large scholarship (really low efc also). I had no hope of getting in either but I ultimately did. I also had all of the housing portal “hints” but I wouldn’t hold out hope for those because some people got them and got waitlisted/rejected while others had none and were accepted.
Admission rate was 15%, which means total accepted applicants was around 12,750. Basically the same as last year.
i applied for stern at the ny campus but got into the shanghai campus instead. Is that better than just being waitlisted for stern ?
As per previous post, they said they took 13000 this year, last year was 12300.
So yeah, it was around the same from last year.
hi! just wondering - i applied and was accepted as a global liberal studies major but had marked london as my 1st choice for my freshmen year abroad. does anyone know where i can see if i got the london year or not?
I’m sure the 700 extra applicants appreciated being made an offer rather than being put on the waitlist this year.
Last year the locations were included in the acceptance letter. It’s possible they’re waiting to see how the pandemic plays out in Europe before confirming anyone at the study abroad sites? Probably worth calling them.
I got accepted into liberal studies core and my study abroad location (Florence, Italy) was mentioned in my admissions letter, not sure if it’s the same for global liberal studies though.
I’m late but daughter was accepted. Hasn’t decided yet though.
I really wish I got in, I got rejected from CAS. There probably were other factors but I think the biggest reason was my SAT score since it was way below average for NYU.
