NYU regular decision class of 2024!

@TexasBelle428 - I’m sorry. I hope that you got accepted at a college that you can be happy at.

Thank you so much!!! I’m currently debating between Baylor and Howard

@TexasBelle428 - Excellent choices. As a very wise young lady mentioned on another thread “Time to focus on options vs. preferences”. You love the school that loves you the most and then bloom where you are planted. Congratulations and Good Luck to you.

Waitlisted. Low key disappointed imao. If anyone has any helpful information please upload.

@Lasttime2020 Congrats!!! What major in SPS?

@Cheekoo33

I got a full scholarship, I got the Dean’s Scholarship Award also.

My daughter received the Dean’s scholarship also. Full tuition! Very exciting.

Accepted
Tandon
Civil Engineering
1520
Great EC’s (very mixed)
Very personal common app essay
Pretty good Why NYU
Extremely excited about the options that I have right now! Don’t know whether I’m going to NYU yet though (50/50 right now)

Just out of curiosity, were most people who could see the deposit fall 2020 option on Bursur accepted?

Got into Stern with $40K Racoosin Scholarship. Does Dean’s Scholarship have to do with the major? Also, does the Room and Board Estimates of $19K a year including meal plan?

Waitlisted by CAS rip

Does anyone know what the waitlist acceptance rate is?

Congrats! The Dean’s Scholarship doesn’t do with major, it does with the rank of the incoming class.

@Sarrip Did she apply to CAS also?

@biearbe - Yes she did.

Bottom line of all these top schools are trying to make money. They should set a quota of how many applications they would accept and review for acceptance of 4000 seats instead of rejecting over 80,000 applications. All they did was to whine that they got too many applications for limited seats. All is a scam. Never fall for RD again and waste your money !!!

@jentam -I didn’t allow my daughter to apply ED anywhere because I needed to compare offers. Yes, finances is a consideration and we are not eligible for much in the way of financial aid. It’s always a risk that they will get rejected which is important to keep expectations in check. My daughter had really great options and chose safety, match and reach schools that she could be happy at. Life is full of disappointments, it’s how we manage that disappointment that is telling. Unfortunately, many are experiencing disappointment for the first time in their lives through this process because this process is truly out of their hands. I’m not sure how colleges could even manage limiting applications,

Makes no sense for anyone, colleges or students, to limit the applications under consideration to some kind of first x- thousand in line basis.

For those who are admitted into NYU, will NYC’s COVID-19 epidemic make you hesitate to go to NYU?

If the situation in NYC is not cleared up by the end of July, will you consider to defer your enrollment? (needs to be requested by 8/1)

@IKCheese My daughter will be attending NYU this fall.

I was very impressed with NYU’s quick actions evacuating the dorms back in early-mid March, which makes me believe NYU will take appropriate actions if NYU is not ready to receive students this fall.
For that matter, it would not be just NYC problem if covid-19 does not clear up by this summer, as most of universities have students coming from everywhere.
