Your GPA is a bit low for UMich but your test score is good. For Ross, your EC would be more important and yours seems to be fine. Their preadmssion rate is very low though.
Stern can really come down to the major. I had much lower stats than you but I applied in Statistics ED and got in. Finance, Marketing, and Econ are heavy hitters with very limited spots. But since you’re applying ED and your test scores are phenomenal I think you have a really good shot.
Can’t tell you much about UMich but from my school only two students got into UVA, both some of the smartest kids in the class (4.0s with high SATs). I applied and got rejected along with a lot of other students I thought that were going to get in for sure, I think there will probably be a lot more characteristics involved especially if you decide to do Finance which is a heavy hitter again, such as essay, state of origin, etc. But I think you do have a good shot, the GPA is a weak point but you’re challenging yourself.
Virginia is a state school in the South/Atlantic coast
NYU has virtually no campus
Those are just the most obvious differences.
What are the things that are most important to you in terms of environment/location, academics and social vibe? That will help us recommend additional schools.
Also, before you apply anywhere, make sure the school offers multiple majors you could be interested in (part of academic fit…) and which would not be incredibly difficult to get into, and run the NPC to find out your approximate cost. Ascertain what your parents are willing to pay – that is your NPC ceiling, plus maybe a few grand for a summer job.
I think for UVA and UMich it depends on stats and the track record your high school has with the colleges. Your stats are good. Get straight As for the rest of junior year and the first quarter of senior year. Send your first quarter grades in. If you are in the top 10% of your class your GPA is fine. ED 1 to Stern is a low reach. Make sure your essays, whether you are talking about business or not, stress some aspect of your personality that shows admissions officers why you want to go to these schools and study business.
Also, I believe you have to apply to the UVA business school once you are a freshman. I think it is pretty competitive to get into. Not 100% on that though
@doorrealthe My school has a very good track record with NYU and Stern, and a decent one with UMich. Buy maybe not as much with UVA? Also my school doesn’t do class rank, but I’d hope that my rank is in that range.
