Leadership
-About 4 leadership position in my clubs
-Founder and CEO of my company
- In the process of starting an organization

NOw here is the most important part-
I am the founder of a startup. The whole reason I want to go to NYU stern is to help myself get into hedge funds and I feel only Stern is the type of place for me. My start up is in financial services and tutoring. I started this this summer. Also I know several people whom I work with and they are in NYU actually. With that being said, NYU is seriously important to me.

The biggest draw back is my first 1 1/2 yr of high school. Does those really bad grades completely kill my chance?
My GPA is 5.2 right now and considering tha NYU Stern is competely academic based, do I stand chance?

Low SAT score lowers your chances. It’s still possible however.

Get your SAT to 2200+ and apply ED but it will still be long shot. Too many highly qualified kids are wanting to go Stern these days .

lets say i can get it to 2200 on my second try, will being the full owner and founder of a startup, and years of expeeriece in investing and business not give me some edge? PLus, i am starting an organization to promot financial literacy. I also work with companies that are founded by student working in NYU. So will that not give me some edge even though my first one and one half year i kinda messed up my GPA?

It is literally so funny how many people base their thinking only about SAT scores. Someone who has 2050, that is a low score? Let me explain you something before you will spread out your kinda unreasonable thinking all over the internet, making those kinds being upset.

Okay, NYU is a very selective school and they like to show off that their students can do THAT MUCH AWESOME on SAT, in high school or whatever else. And I swear, for NYU Stern even a score of 1800 is good. Why? Your application includes everything; your essay, scores, information where are you from, how money you have and so on. They literally look on things such as essays, your will to attend the college, if you are able to pay for your tuition (they are happy if they see that you are able to pay for all those 4 years, because why would they need kids who will drop because of that many financial issues?). Dude, let me tell you something even more important. There, in the Admissions Office, there are people - “human beings” - pretty same as we are. They also have been graduating from schools, from hs, college. They really know, that some people are not good at writing tests such as SAT, the grades not always represent your actual ability and your essays are not always written by you. The tests such as SAT, it depends which questions you got; sometimes they ate better for YOU, sometimes are not. Admissions know, that they look for students who are MOST PROMISING and they can CONVINCE them, that their development will be best continued in NYU. They do not need your f*** awesome score since every single chinese person is able to get those; they need to see that you need them (NYU), you want them and your future, ambitions and stubborrness is what makes you a smart, good and well-prepared student for NYU. They really started shi***ing on your GPA and other stuff because some people literally are lucky in life. Of course, they care. But even NYU Stern is not looking only at those scores etc. . They know how student’s life looks like, stress, deadlines, and the real life starts in college, not some high school classes where you were snapchating or looking through your facebook. Also, they are happy with the diversity in their college, so don’t be suprised if they do not need anymore chineese or other people from Asia. NYU is famous because of their diversity as well, so they like to help the students who are from different parts of the world, not always caring that much of their scores. Your way of thinking is so shallow and telling people that SAT and GPA is that what really matters is like trying to convince a person, that one should love you because you have skinny body or healthy hair.
Everybody can get that, but rememer - not always everybody is able to. And that is not the thing which discriminates them. I swear, people who will judge you are humans and they know how life in high school looks like. They love talented students, but your talend does not lie witin your scores; there are waaaaay more important values and you just don’t consider them.
