I know that as a whole, NU is way better than NYU. But I plan to major in film, and I'm leaning toward Tisch because it's supposed to have a much better film program. Everyone is telling me that if I am sure about doing film (which I am), I should definitely pick NYU. Any opinions?

No, it’s >, not >>>.

Northwestern’s film is one of the 12 programs listed by Hollywood Reporter. Unless you think there’s a huge difference among the top-12 programs, I wouldn’t use “>>>”.

NYU virtually has no campus and not much sense of community. Make sure you don’t mind that at all.

It depends on what type of program you’re looking for. As for me, NYU Tisch used to be my dream school too, but now i’m glad i picked NU b/c it fits me better. NYU’s prgm is much more technique oriented, professional, and production-driven. I heard it’s pretty hard core; that there’s a lot of production work and less theory, and almost no room for double majoring. NU’s film prgm is much more flexible. You can choose your focus between production, theory, and writing (scenario, script…). or even the business of entertainment industry. It’s also very easy to double major and minor other subjects, i hear. NYU has more name value for sure. Depends on what you’re looking for

oh, well i want to do a lot of production stuff and less theory. and i don’t plan to double major. so i guess nyu is better for me after all…
