NYU Transfer Fall 2019

@maxinelime I think you just have to take the form to each of your professors and have them put your current grade and sign right?

Maybe it depends on the school? My advisor in my current college only requests me to get a signature from the office of registration and let me turn it back to her. And the report needs to be submitted to NYU via mail or email. To me it’s more like an advising incident.

@Clementine7624 Yep, a midterm report is essentially your daughter asking her professors for whatever letter grade she has at that point. Though some professors might put not known since they don’t calculate grades mid year. If they put that, don’t worry NYU won’t hold it against you, it’s pretty common.

So prior to today my application was complete, but now it says awaiting “College Transcript from (My High School Name)”. Did this happen to anyone else? I’ve already emailed admissions. If they’re requesting a college transcript from my HS, then they must really not want me!

Hello everyone. Some of my materials are shown as received twice when I was checking my portal just a few minutes ago. I didn’t submit any additional material after I submit my application and the duplicated version are shown as received on 4/11/2019. Does anyone else have a similar situation?

Hi everyone,

When checking my portal most of my boxes are checked off but I have two problems. The first is a school I sent transcripts for hasn’t been entered despite being submitted before other things that have already been checked off. My other issue is that one of the schools I attended(stated on common app) is not showing up at all. Do you guys think I should call to follow up on this or just email the representative who came to my school? Any help is much appreciated.

@luc405 I would call. I said I went to two schools on my common app and only one appeared in my portal. They were both in the same community college district so my one transcript was covered for both schools but I would still check in to make sure all your materials got to the admissions office. Better safe than sorry.

any tisch people hear back yet?

@hjxwit2019 I was in a similar situation, if you have 2 college reports like I did or something else don’t worry about it. Admissions will eventually clean up your portal. Just remember if you have multiple academic evaluations that’s fine as those are the amount of letter of recs you submitted.

Thank you for your response.

I just got an email saying that they are in the process of reviewing my application, but my midterm report is missing. But I sent my midterm report already, and on my portal it says that it is received. Should I send it again and should I upload it through the portal or email it?

will I get an email when they are reviewing my application or only if something is missing?

@dsdarling17 I suggest emailing them back and telling them you already submitted it. You could probably attach it to that email, especially if you submitted it a while back.

I got a similar email last week even though I’d already submitted some of the documents. I emailed them back and said I’d submitted my college report and that I’d get the midterm report to them as soon as possible. They emailed back and said thanks and that they’d note that my midterm report was on the way. I believe they appreciated the communication.

They’ve only seemed to send review notifcations when you’re missing something! I wouldn’t worry about it!

They’re asking for the college report and i let NYU know that no one in my school sign it… i am going got talk to someone at my school again about the situation since NYU said it NEEDs it… but i actually already contacted 4 people about this issue

Did NYU ask everyone for a midterm report? They didn’t ask me for one nor do I see it on my checklist…

@EPICBOYXP They didn’t ask me for it either. I think they only ask for it if they believe they will need it to better review your application

Does anyone know how many time do we have before we have to make a decision on the NYU offer? I may be on a 22 hour flight back home by the time NYU notify me of their decisions. Wouldn’t wanna miss it because of the flight.

@TrinityT Admitted transfer students have two weeks from the date on their admission letter to respond. Look under the “Respond to Your Offer of Admission” drop-down on this page https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/admitted-students/next-steps.html

@inlalaland I’ve seen two versions of the college report form. The NYU website “Transfer Applicants” page links to a far more complex form (https://www.nyu.edu/content/dam/nyu/ugAdmissions/documents/College%20Report.pdf) but the application portal links to a much less intimidating version (https://www.nyu.edu/content/dam/nyu/ugAdmissions/documents/TransferCollegeReport.pdf). If you’re asking them to fill out the first form, you may want to try the second.

I had one of my professors, who’s also technically an advisor for my major, fill out the simpler form and email it to them. NYU accepted it. He wasn’t sure if he could fill out the more complicated version, though.
