I believe its two weeks after you get your acceptance
Do you know how it work for accepting financial aid for one school when you’re waiting for others? I applied to my state school and I received my financial aid letter, but I have not received any financial aid information from NYU, but I must accept my awards by May 1 for the other school?
Can you maybe ask your state school to give you a extension?
Sweet! Thanks so much and good luck!
commit to the state school on May 1 and withdraw if you hear good news from NYU, transfers can double commit and often must with these late decision dates
Thank you!!! I appreciate it so much!
Hi!
I’m super late to this thread, but I’m so happy I found this! I’m applying to transfer to Tisch from a state school and I just had my artistic review on the 15th!
I just wanted to let you all know that I emailed an admissions officer (prior to finding this thread bc I was absolutely clueless in regards to the decision timeline) and they said we should hear back in mid May. Fingers crossed!
How much scholarship does NYU give out for transfer students on average? I am currently a freshman at UC Irvine and will hopefully transfer to the Music Business program at NYU.
This is from their website:
“ * We are only able to offer institutional aid to transfer students who are admitted through one of the following programs:
- Community College Transportation Opportunity Program
- Second Degree Transfer Program in Rory Meyers College of Nursing (Accelerated and Non-Accelerated)
- Gallatin Undergraduate Initiative for Discovery in Education
- CAS Pipeline Opportunities for Inter-Collegiate STEM Education “
From my understanding, the aid you receive will be from the government only? I’m not sure if I’m interpreting that correctly though. I think that merit aid is probably very different depending on what school within NYU you’re applying to.
Congrats! I’m an external applicant, class of 2024. Are you a freshman at this point? Have they required any additional files besides the list in portal such as some mid-term reports?
Guys, I’ve heard that they give you ONE week to confirm the enrollment from the date of the decision notification.
I thought it was 2? 1 week is ridiculously short, especially with NYU’s price tag! Families need time to sort that stuff out and see if it’s even feasible!
Are you sure about a week? They used to give at least two weeks.
I think I read somewhere it’s two i think you can ask for extension
Taylor did they tell you mid-may for only tisch applicants or for everyone
I asked specifically for Tisch applicants so I think it’s safe to assume that mid May is for Tisch applicants only.
Ok. That makes sense.
which program did you apply for? In past years Tisch and a a big wave of everyone else heard back mid May. Last year May 12.
Honestly, it seems like the decisions aren’t following a pattern this year; just as nothing has been normal this past year. I hope to hear some more decisions today
I applied for Musical Theatre!
