Alright, so basically I got into: NYU, BC, UCLA and Berkeley

I applied to study politics and economics (depending on the school). It seems that Berkeley tops the list in prestige, with UCLA a bit behind, but ive heard its really competitve with a 24/7 working lifestyle. I want a uni with prestige, hot girls, good parties, socialising and all that...basically, just a fun uni with a good rep. Would go NYU, but hear that socialising is a challenge with the lack of campus and its not as highly regarded as the two UCs

I'm international and money isnt really an issue as theyre all fairly comparable.

Anyway, which one should i go for?

Well, both schools are good, with Berkley as you said topping the rest. However, it is true that socializing in NYU is difficult as there is not a traditional campus. Many who attend NYU say they are “isolated” as it is difficult to meet people. There are not too many traditional college parties compared to UC Berkeley; you’ll mostly find them in fraternities, which at NYU is not such a big thing due to the lack of a “true” campus (e.g. frat houses). You’ll have to really search for the social scene that you are looking for. You’ll most likely have to find a group of friends who will go to clubs and bars with you, for which you will have to pay to enter and socialize with strangers who may or may not be in your age range.

At UC Berkeley, it is true of the work ethic that you will have to implement. There’s more of a traditional college party scene in frat houses and college rental houses at Berkeley. It certainly does not take the title of a “party school” but that also applies to NYU in terms of not having traditional parties. You’ll most likely end up hanging out with friends rather than college “partying” in NYU as you won’t see commonly like in the movies the red cups and beer kegs in college houses.
