Hey guys,
I received a waitlist acceptance from NYU yday. I have already been accepted to UofT with a scholarship of 1,00,000 CAD. And I have been waitlisted in UCLA (decision pending) and UT Austin (decision pending)
I want to study Mathematics and Computer Science. (Undergraduate)
Please provide your opinion on the basis of-

Thanks a lot:)
Net cost of attendance? State of residence? International? If US, what are your instate options?
It looks like that big scholarship would cover all of your costs at U of T. So go there. Get a great education for free. Try NYU for grad school if you still want to study there.
If you are a math major, do the math.
What’s your budget?
What’s the net cost at each?
I’d go with U Toronto personally, since they’ve got such a stellar reputation in your field and gave you a scholarship.
If you’re admitted to UCLA or UT we may revisit, but as of now, UToronto> NYU in every aspect you mentioned, thanks to 1° great city 2° collegiate university 3° reputation/academic quality 4° Canadian policy toward internationals (assuming you’d be international both in Canada and the US. if you’re American, let us know as it might change things a bit).
Somehow, I don’t think your scholarship at U of T is 1,000,000 CAD. Do you mean 100,000 CAD? 10,000 CAD? Were you admitted to CS at U of T or mathematical and physical sciences?
1- Since you are only accepted to one school, there is only one choice. Toronto is considered to be very good in CS (I would assume you were accepted into Sciences, and are looking for a 2nd year admit into CS?). Expect to be worked very hard there. I am assuming that you are fine with a very large school in the middle of a very large, though mostly benign, city?
We need a lot more info from you before we can advise, ie. what is your nationality, what are your expectations from a school and city, what is your budget.
