My school is on a 7 point grading system but is going to change to ten next year. I have a legacy at Columbia U which founded nyu so...maybe?

Oh, btw, I'll have three years varsity field hockey, asian club, 2 years nah. 3years nshs (spanish), three years nahs (art), editor(1 year) and newspaper reporter (3 years) , asain club, book club, 2 years jv track, 3 years math league, 4 volunteer summers at a youth camp, and ive been playing the piano for about 8 years... and some other stuff i cant really remember

NYU financial aid is appalling, at best. Comparing my best financial aid package (private, competitive university) to my worst (NYU) package, I believe NYU asked me to do more than 3x's work-study, about 6x's more loans, with 1/2 amount of scholarships and grants. Princeton Review rated it is the second-worst financial aid office in the country... If you can't pay, then don't get your hopes up. NYU had the best department in the country for my course of study, unfortunately, I had to waive goodbye because they simply don't give out anything at all... oh wells, best of luck to you-

Does anyone know of any schools offhand that be good for the academic background I have? I prefer an urban setting with good academics? I was thinking maybe Skidmore, Smith, Sarah Lawrence... something liberal

NYU is an awesome school. Anyone will agree with that. Like what everyone said, most people have to turn them down because of the money. But, you have awesome stats. If you can pay the full sticker price, you are in. But seriously, the tuition, room and board, books, and etc. total is absolutely ridiculous.

It IS the the best part of NYC, Greenwich Village. Plus, when you think about it NYU just may be the only chance you can live in a great city like NYC without the frills of water bills, trash days, rats, and SKY HIGH rent...you know...the adult worries...

I know a girl in my school who got FULL TUITION to NYU...all she had to pay for was food. She is perhaps the luckiest of the lot.
