** NYUAD CLASS OF 2021 - ED1 **

@Basitsah Nope, they said they didn’t know by when they would send everything out, but it will most probably be this week and maybe the next as well.

@an424harv I have no idea really, but I think there will be several international invites still left to be released - whatever or whenever it is, just take it easy :slight_smile:

@MaChen If you are an applicant of regular decision, you shouldn’t be overwhelmed. I have the similar experience to recieve a belated response from admission office but I think the main reason is that the office is closed during weekend. Don’t worry!

@DreamEater77 I am from China. I am looking forward to meeting you!

is there anyone who received the invite on a day other than the 12th?

@an424harv yeah I’ve heard of people who got it later. And I know that some ED1 people got their invites one week before CW (that is two weeks after everyone else) It’s unlikely but possible :slight_smile:

@Fission Hey I was hoping for the same thing! Would really like to get to know everyone who’s invited. Is there a Facebook group yet?

@af5402 There is no official facebook CW2 group as of now but you can join NYUAD - Class of 2021 Applicants instead.

Hello everyone! Have all invites already been sent out? Does anyone know it? I just don’t know if I should keep checking my email or not.

@droft1312 I called them, and they said that the majority of invites are out, but that nothing is final until February 15th for ED2 applicants.

After receiving the CW invitation, do applicants get follow-up emails? When can they expect the plane tickets?

Anyone received any phone calls ? Or is it just me ?

@krystalee I don’t know if this will help, but I’m a class of 2020 student and applied ED1 last application cycle. I received my CW invite on Nov 13 (2015) with a link to access the Candidate Weekend portal, with information, forms, and schedules. On Nov 27, I received my plane ticket. The next day (Nov 28), I received an email with pre-departure info. My Candidate Weekend was Dec 3-6 2015. Your CW should follow roughly the same timeline in the weeks prior to departure, give or take a few days. As always, I’m happy to answer any further questions!

@mightychondria Thanks for sharing.

@mightychondria

Thank youuuu so muchhhhh for sharing! <3 you probably don’t realize it but it helps a lot!

I’m really nervous about the interviews, how many are there and will they be one-on-one? Are they academical (school, scores, achievements, overcoming challenges etc) or more like casual talk based on our passion trying to figure out our personality? Thank youuuu so much <3

@alpenlibe There will be 2 interviews, one with a faculty member and one with an admissions officer. Don’t worry too much about them! They are very casual conversations and more along the lines of personality, what you’re interested in, what you think of candidate weekend, etc.

Any idea about when the next round of invites (for RD applicants) will be sent? Will it only be after the Feb CW is over and they have a better idea of the number of spots remaining?

@apptad567 Invites are generally sent about 3 weeks before each candidate weekend.

Hey guys, just wanted to say that I got a CW invite for the feb 23 - 26 weekend! Can’t wait to meet all of you.This group has been great, and y’all should join the fb page if you haven’t done so already… its pretty shwifty :stuck_out_tongue: . Oh and I would love to hear your thoughts/ any information you might have regarding the evaluative components of the weekend.

I just wanted to say that the goal of this whole ordeal is to get accepted to NYUAD, not the CW. According to their website, there is no guarantee of admission if you are invited, and no guarantee of rejection if you aren’t. That being said, congrats to those invited, good luck to those still waiting and may God help us all.

PS what are my chances of getting accepted now that I’ve been invited to CW. I know they’re pretty high, but if you could try and put a number on it it’d really help me visualize it. RD applicant.

Peace and Love.

Hey @Nateslayer

I’m from this years ED1 intake and can safely say that approximately 25% of candidates who are invited to CW are not offered admission. I think out of our batch of 120, roughly 80-90 were accepted and this is the same every year. If you have any questions then feel free to get in touch!
