Hey guys, I wish you all the best !
BTW, do yall think they are still sending out ED invitation of CW ?
@JustinHuang They said they’ll be sending them out till Sunday. If you don’t hear from them in 3 days, you’re most probably not going to get an invite… Good luck!
I just called the admissions office and they are still in the process of sending it. Congrats to those who received theirs!
@yirinee hey! thanks for replying!
I’m just wondering how you get the info
Did you call them directly?
@JustinHuang that’s right, yeah!
Congrats to everyone who got the invitation. :-j
Hope to see you in the sizzling Abu Dhabi :)>-
While August was definitely sizzling, weather is absolutely beautiful this time of year! You guys are in for an amazing experience. Congratulations!

@Cool_Aspirant @JustinHuang @HiroHamada HEY GUYS CONGRATULATIONS! I will be applying ED2 and wanted to know your exam/standardised test scores to see my chances…
@RadiationSpike9 Actually, SATs do not matter much to NYUAD. I didn’t submit any. Better focus on your application essay and a killer essay escalates chances.
Best of Luck.
@mightychondria So excited to trip to Abu Dhabi!! However, I am not sure about the weather. I understand it’s in deser: so I do not expect it to be cold there. I am not sure how cold (or not) are morning and evening there.
@Cool_Aspirant The weather this time of year is very mild and slightly warm during the day: mid-to-high 20s Celsius, and low 20s in the morning/evening. You may need a light jacket for indoors as the air conditioner on campus can be quite cold! Otherwise, tshirts and jeans (or similar clothing) will be perfectly fine for the weather.
@mightychondria Thank you so much. I’ll plan accordingly.
@mightychondria Please clarify regarding the money we can carry (I don’t use credit card) : does that have to be Dirham or Dollars also work? In fact, can we carry bill at all? I mean, is there any restriction or limit on how much?
Thanks in advance.
@mightychondria I was wondering by when do we get a response on the Candidate Weekend invite, and where are we supposed to check for it. Do we check on the student portal?
@Cool_Aspirant You will need to use dirhams. You can exchange currency at the airport when you arrive, or you can withdraw cash from the ATM on campus. However, you really shouldn’t need much money over the course of the weekend as everything you need will be covered by the university. There’s not really a cash limit- you would need to declare at customs if you’re bringing in more than AED 100,000… but I highly doubt you’re intending to bring in that much cash, haha.
@dimitririgas I am not sure what you mean by a response, but the CW invite should have come by email, and all instructions/information about candidate weekend and accessing the CW portal should come by email, assuming it’s the same as last year.
@mightychondria Thanks! I was also wondering if they have stopped giving invites
Well if its helpful for anybody, the admissions office said that they’re still rolling out a few invites for the 2nd batch which should (hopefully) greet those who haven’t received the invites as yet, by the end of this week.
@yirinee End of this week as in today Sunday Nov 20th or next week?
@mightychondria Can you please give us some advice for the candidate weekend? For example how would the interviews and sample classes be like and anything at all that we should know about the weekend?
