I’m a current junior that is definitely interested in Oberlin. I plan to major in history or art history, and I am really interested in Oberlin’s programs. I was wondering how influential/helpful anyone that went on the Spring Junior Visit Program found it to be? I live in Maryland, so it is a long drive, and I just want to hear what other people thought of it. Thanks so much!
We highly recommend visiting colleges or universities that most interest you.
My son did not participate in any spring junior visit program, but he has visited colleges and universities as time permitted. He got a lot out of the visits because they helped him determine which schools he thought were a better fit for him. Each college and university has a different atmosphere and strengths and weaknesses and the visits provided insights that you can’t all get from websites, you tube clips and promotional literature (although these are helpful as well).
My son visited Oberlin twice in the last twelve months - 1st for a tour, information session, meeting with a professor and participating in a class, and 2nd for an interview. From what my son has told me, everyone he has met at Oberlin – faculty, staff and students – has been very helpful and interesting. We hope you enjoy your experience as well.
