i got into both... iam international from VN living in us... which one do you guys prefer?

I would prefer Oberlin, but both would give you an excellent education. Oberlin I think is more liberal, artier. Both are isolated.

These are VERY different schools. They both offer a fine liberal arts education. Colgate has an active Greek (fraternity/sorority) system. Oberlin has a co-op system. Colgate has a very preppy student body. Oberlin’s student body is more casual, artistic. Colgate has an active Division I athletic program. Though Oberlin has athletics, they are not emphasized as much. I have a sophomore at Colgate and a student accepted at Oberlin, and they could not be more different from one another. Each school is the perfect match for them–but I would definitely look here on CC and at their individual websites to get a better feel. The Oberlin blogs are very helpful.

Both have great faculty and would offer a great education, but these are very different institutions. Colgate is more conservative and jocky with an influential fraternity-sorority scene. Oberlin is more liberal and has a big emphasis on the arts.

SO Colgate is very preppy? like the student body is rich and close minded?
Which one would you suggest for internationals?

I said Colgate was preppy, not rich and close-minded. It just has a kind of preppy east coast vibe, but the students are great. More a “style” than a judgement.

preppy kinda has several meanings… like they care about looks… and popularity and parties and shoes and clothes and stuff???
