Oberlin's Economics program

I would like to double major in Economics and Psychology. My college counselor said that if I am interested in economics, I should not even think about Oberlin. How true is this? Do you know anyone who has majored in economics at Oberlin?

Hello!

I've known several econ major and I don't know why you heard such negative things. The Econ department is incredible, and highly demanding, covering topics from econometrics, and theory, to financial management and accounting. If you're interested in business, the department is instrumental in the Business Scholars program (which puts students in high level financial internships). There are a lot of lectures and workshops oriented on socially responsible management. Jerry, of Ben and Jerry, was an Oberlin alumn, recently discussed his efforts in creating a corporation that acts to promote social welfare.
